Oil pumps on these do not go bad. The oil pressure sensor could be bad giving you a false reading. If not the only other thing could be is a clogged up oil pickup screen inside the oil pan. also get a delco pf47 filter

98 buick lesabre oil pressure dropped to 0 and engine died. added 1 quart oil, waited 30 minutes, started and drove 5 miles then oil pressure dropped to 0 and engine died. does this sound like a bad oil...

my sister had the same problem. There are 2 sensors that can cause this when they go bad. One is the oil pressure switch, which is located near the oil filter. When the PCM reads this switch, and gets a low reading, it will automatically kill the engine. The switch costs around $4.00 and is a 5 minute replacement job. The other possibility is that the crank position sensor has gone bad. When this sensor goes bad, the PCM can't read the appropriate speeds of the crankshaft, and will adjust the fuel and air mixture to compensate, often times the engine will die because it is getting insufficient fuel and air. The Crank position sensor is located on the engine block near the water pump. It is around $40.00 and at the most a 30 minute replacement job if you are unfamiliar with the process. I hope this helps. I'm a vehicle mechanic in the Air Force, with roughly 7 years of experience on the floor.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1993 Buick LeSabre

The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, through the top. You must remove the fuel tank first, then you can unlock and pull the fuel pump out of the top. This is the case for pretty much any car or truck made past 1985 that has fuel injection.

I NEED TO KNOW THE TORQUE SPECS FOR THE OIL PAN ON A 1994 BUICK LESABRE 3.8 L. V6

Exploded view of the oil pan and related components - 1993 vehicle shown

* If removed, install the oil pump pipe and screen. Secure with the retaining bolt(s) and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

* Place a new formed rubber gasket in the oil pan flange.

* Position the oil pan and secure with the oil pan-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 124 inch lbs. (14 Nm). Do NOT overtighten the bolts, as this will damage the oil pan, causing a leak.

Hope help with this (remembere rated and comment this help).

1993 Buick LeSabre surges and almost dies intermittently

Check fuel rail pressure.

Add fuel to beyond 1/2 tank.

A weak fuel pump do not like to ran low on gas.

When was the last gas filter and fuel pump change?

90-120,000 miles is the typical change out.

Fuel pump like to quit on a HOT day.

Test the pressure and see is it within specification.

Good luck
