Disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail, crank for a second if it doesn't have a bleeder valve. (looks like valve on tire) If no gas comes, change fuel filter, and check fuel pump while down there.

B&s 22hp engine won't start

Hi Charles:
I'd start by checking the spark plug condition and function.
Wet........... no spark
Dry............ no fuel
Check for spark anyway. Hot and blue.
Try priming carb with a squirt of gas.
Drain and flush carb. You may need to remove and thoroughly clean if gummed up.

Engine won't turn over......battery's good, just changed the plugs.......doesn't seem to be getting gas

Disconnect the fuel line after fuel filter, after fuel pump and at carb one at a time to see if it's getting gas anywhere when you turn the ignition to see what the bad part is.

Engine not starting quits when seems to almost turn over,

Check Spark and Fuel, one is missing. If both are there then floor the gas padle and try again, donot pump gas as the spark plugs get flooded with gas and wont fire up the engine.

The engine is turning over but it will not start. It seems to not be getting fuel.

could be the fuel filter or fuel pump. to check the pump remove the fuel line from in front of the filter and put a container in front of the line to catch any gas, turn engine over and see if you get gas pumping from tank. if so try replacing filter.

Will not start. have ignition but will not start

if it seems to be getting fuel let it set for a few minute, turn on the key without cranking the engine, then crank engine do not step on the gas pedal. if it still doesn't start check your fuse. if the fuse is good, then your problem might start to get a little expensive.

Gets gas and spark still won't start

Sounds like this maybe a timing belt has slipped (no Compression) if the engine seems to turn over faster than normal you should or the engine is not getting fuel you can use brake parts cleaner spary in intake and see if it fires up if it does the engine is not getting fuel - possible fuel pump
