New model 99 Jetta. Sunroof only tilting not sliding

New model 99 Jetta. My sunroof was only sliding back on one side and part of the tilt arm was broken. I got a new sunroof assembly and pretty much have it installed, but the glass was in the wrong position for the screws, so I attached the motor and it would only tilt up and down. Not slide back, there is a little noise like the motor is trying to slide but then stops, what could be the problem? The chains look good, is there some other way to check them?

When you turn switch to the slide back position, do you hear the motor running ? If yes, might have a blocked or bad track. This will require you to remove trim covers and glass to have access to the track. Once all parts removed, turn the switch to open as you look at the motor and track move.

SOURCE: The sliding panel under my sunroof is broke. Any suggestions? The Sunroof motor is working.

The sunshade clips are probably broken. Need to remove the glass panel. Note the position of the panel the frt and the rear. If not properly reinstalled you might get wind noise. Once you have the panel removed unscrew the clips from the sunshade. Carefully remove the shade and install the new clips.

SOURCE: The sunroof on my 2006

Don't need an owners manual to push the button, to
actuate the sunroof

Maybe you have the owner manual with your
preventative maintenance log book ,where you
write down all you do on the car

If it won't operate correctly, you need a repair shop !!

Nissan rogue sunroof wont slide open. It will tilt up but not slide

1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
2. Push and hold the sunroof switch toward 2 . Once the sunroof has reached the full tilt position, release the switch. Push and hold the switch toward the 2 position again. After a delay of four seconds, the sunroof will make a small movement and backup.
3. Release the switch.
4. Within 5 seconds of releasing the switch, push and continuously hold the switch toward 2 . The sunroof will move from the tilt position to the open position and back to the close position.

The Vermeulen Hollandia tilt and slide sunroof on my 1996 Subaru Impreza has stuck open. We swapped the fuse for another one in the car and it closed. However, when we tried to open it again it stuck

First, were the fuses that you replaced the first BLOWN sunroof fuse with the same size? Example, 5 or 10 or 20amps...I am going to assume they were the same or you probably would have burned up the sunroof motor or just blown the replacement fuse real quick. Can you help the motor by pressing the palm of one or both of your hands against the inside of the sunroof glass and push the sunroof button while trying to help the sunroof slide back with your hand or hands. (Obviously if you use both hands someone else will have to push the sunroof button unless you have an extra arm and hand) If it slides back with the help of your hands, either the sunroof is sticking against the slide or the motor is worn down and just doesn't have enough strength to move it anymore. You could try to use a light coating of oil on the slides where the sunroof touches as it slides back and forth. Something like WD-40 preferabley but you could even use any motor oil, worst case "Cooking Oil". Good luck with my suggestions!!

Reset sunroof toyota

To reset the moonroof one-touch operation:
With ignition switch in the "ON" position, do the following:
1. Push and hold the "TILT UP" side of the switch until the moon roof tilts all the way up and then tilts down slightly (approximately 10 mm [0.39 in.] at the rear).
2. Check for proper operation of the "one-touch slide open/close" and "one-touch tilt up/down" functions by pushing the switch briefly to the "SLIDE OPEN" and
"TILT UP" positions.

Does a 1990 bmw 325is have a sliding sunroof

I Might be wrong but sometimes then sunroof and shade must be lubricated every few years. maybe thats why it wont slide up but depending on the option the first owner put into the car. some sunroofs in these models do slide back and some just til.Because the moonroof is glass the interior parts get extreamly hot under the sun light, this might be the problem.
