Did you flush out the injector lines? Bad injectors are known to act this way. Check fuel pressure regulator for proper operation.

96 Riviera.. just replaced blower coupler, fuel pump and fuel filter now acts like it's hitting the rev limiter at 3800 rpm...

Hello. It seems your Buick's engine is 'flooded' with gas in one or more cylinders. This will cause the engine to 'race' because of a fire in one or more cylinders. The engine gets to high rpm and stays there; this is not good! Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

if you follow the fuel rail gas line, it goes to the filter.
for sure.

is it just tip-in throttle bogging , only then POWER catches, up?
while bogging can you go to WOT and see if it has full power now?

"not getting gas" can be 2 things, bogging or misfiring
they are night and day different, one is like pulling a dead weight
the misfire is violent engine shaking,

if wot is ok, then that implies fuel pressure is good. and filter.

unknowing
its on top of the fuel tank pump RACK.

if engine is tuned up,?
and power is low at wot,
i check fuel pressure live.(under varying engine loads)
if the pressure is out of spec, i get a new filter and PPR.
if pressures are in spec. dynamically.
i find out why the PCM is under-injecting.
ask how. its not hard.

Mustang stalls when trying to drive and will shut down

Measure fuel pressure on injector rail - should be 38 to 40 psi. If low or fluctuating, then replace regulator. Another possibility is the in-tank filter being clogged - rare I know, but trash in the gas tank and it's clogged.

99 gmc suburban -Service lite on= o2 sensor -unplugged battery when change -Just changed battery 3 days ago - close to e,gotta get gas -ck eng lite not on 65 miles drving - today firedup drove 4 miles for...

It sounds like the fuel filter may have reached it life time and needs to be replaced. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles if not once every year to ensure that the fuel system is running 100%. A dirty fuel filter is the #1 cause of fuel pump failure due to extra heat created to push the gas to the fuel injectors, the other cause is running the gas tank less then 1/4. It's the gas that keep the fuel pump cool and not running hot.
Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter which should be located On all C/K's of this body-type 88-98, the fuel filter is located under the driver's side door inside the frame rail near the crossmember that supports the tail of the transmission. Replace it with AC Delco part GF-626, FRAM part G3727, or other comparable brand corresponding metal bodied filter. You should use a flare-nut wrench for the line fitting and one for the filter fitting. I'm not sure of the size needed for the filter, but the line should be 5/8"
For SFI engines ('96 and later) you need to bleed off the pressure in the line. Locate the pressure test port on the fuel rail under the hood, remove the cap, press valve to relieve line pressure and recap valve. If ground clearance is not high enough to get under vehicle and work, raise it with jack and rest frame on jack stands.
Caution: Fuel in lines and filter will run out once fittings are undone. Use fuel safe container to catch fuel spill.
Take wrenches and hold filter from rotating, while loosening line fittings. Remove Filter from bracket by sliding and manipulating fuel lines for clearance, and slide filter out of bracket.
Reassembly is reverse of disassembly. Tighten fittings snugly. Reconnect battery, turn ignition on (do not start). Pump will make brief whirring sound - less than 5 seconds. Check for leaks. No leaks - good. Now you can drive again.
Hope that helps, keep me posted. Glad to know you got your truck running 100% again soon.

2003 Ford Escape won't keep running

2 solutions: first, ignition control module is getting hot and shutting car down. 2nd; you didn't mention your dash(service soon) lights were on.

You said the fuel filter was pretty clogged up. It's sounds like a bad case of EGS(ethanol gas syndrome). The ethanol;being a corn deritive;acts like corn liquor(which is what is is), and turns the fuel to goop, and adds large amounts of water through out all the systems.

It clogs up the fuel lines, the injectors, and ruins fuel pumps. It also puts heavy carbon on egr valves, int. and exh. valves, and can ruin oxy sensors, and catalytic converters.

Let's try the cheapest way first:Buy a can of SEAFOAM and Berkline 2+2 at your parts store. Take out the oxy sensor(s) and clean the ends using the 2+2 and re-install.
Then change out the fuel filter again. Pour the SF into a tank of PREMIUM(only) gas. Change the pcv valve. Then start vehicle and let idle for 3-5 min(even if you have to rev it up to do it to get the SF flowing through the system), and then drive it 10 hard miles.

Replace that fuel filter, and then let it idle some more. Your car sounds like it is really messed up bad. Unless you take it to a garage that has a fuel system cleaner machine, this is the best way to do it.

After this, add SF every 3-5000 miles to your tank. It will prevent this from happening again. Also; to be on the safe side. Have a PSI check on your fuel pump. This goop could have burnt it up. I hope this helps.

Change your fuel filter, it may have gone it's life time and is getting to dirty to let fuel flow properly. Your fuel pump to may be getting weak, if the fuel filter is dirty the pump works harder and heats up and could be over heating the fuel pump relay too. The fuel pump relay i believe is in the glove box behind a panel that say relay, there should be (3) in there and the middle one is the fuel pump's. switch then around after you change the fuel filter and if you get a chance, check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this help's if there is a Auto Zone around you, you can ask to use the fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure you have and they'll have the step by step instructions on how to do it and takes about 5 min to do and will have the fuel filter and step by step to replace that too. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Need stock maintenance schedule for 96 ford mustang 3.8ltr.?

At 100,000 miles u need to replace the spark plugs and check/inspect the rest of the ignition components and repalce as needed, in most cases everything will be fine, change interval for air filter and fuel filter is every 30,000 miles, the transmission (auto only) should have a fluid and filter change at 60,000, also the brakes should be inspected 20,000-30,000 miles depending on how you drive and where u drive (city, hiway etc.).
