There should be tiny holes in the plastic covers at the base of the chrome rods attached to the headrest use a paper clip and push it in the holes as you pull on the headrest in the full up postion.

you shoulb be able to..most bucket seats can be unbolted with the right tool..once removed you can see underneath which spring is broken and replace it..
Unscrew front seat head rest guide rod retainers (610A18) .
Pull up on front seat back head restraint (611A08) . Compress foam in area of front seat head rest guide rod sleeves (610A16) .
Remove front seat back head restraint positioning springs. Pull front seat back head restraint up and out.
Installation
Slide front seat head rest guide rod retainers onto front seat back head restraint posts.
Compress foam in front seat head rest guide rod sleeve area. Install positioning springs on front seat head rest guide rod sleeves .
Insert front seat back head restraint posts (notches on posts facing rearward) into front seat head rest guide rod sleeves and push down to engage positioning spring.
NOTE: Front seat back head restraint must operate smoothly throughout its range of travel, must remain in any fixed position, and must not be freely removable from the seat back. If any of these conditions are not met, check for proper installation of positioning spring onto front seat head rest guide rod sleeve .
Tighten front seat head rest guide rod retainers onto front seat head rest guide rod sleeves .
Adjust front seat back head restraint by applying hand pressure, either up or down, to center area of front seat back head restraint .
The 03-05 Sunfire instrument clusters have a common problem where the stepper motors on the cluster's circuit board will fail causing one or more gauges to go out. It can be repaired though, check out this page for more on how to get it fixed - sunfire tachometer repair
Check the owner's manual. There is usually a release for the headrest hidden under it. If not, you may need to remove the back seat by pulling it away from the back of the car.
Another fix if all else fails is to carefully remove the trim panel where the seat belt retractor is and then disconnect the retractor, reclaim the belt and then securely refasten it.
1. Take off the head rest.
2. slide seat forward until the 2 rear bolts are exposed on the track
3. Remove bolts
4. the seat that lifts out like a van seat. you need to tilt it forward then pull it up and back and it will come out. then maneuver it out of the door.
I suspect you needto relace your coil pack. You are probably not running on all 4. the engine will run but only on 2 cylinders.
If missing replace coil pack. they go regularily on the 03/05 F style engines. You should be able to locate a good used one at a wreckers.
The pull down on a 05 is in the trunk. There is 2 loops on the underside of the upper trunk body drivers side. Pull loop and push seat forward from trunk until it releases. Left side loop is for left side half of seat and right is for right.

01. Sit in the rear seat facing the front seat you will be removing the head rest from 02. Lean the front seat back so you are looking down at the head rest 03. Pull the head rest up as far as it will go 04. Take a small flat head screwdriver and slide in into one of the holes surrounding the head rest poles 05. Move it around until you feel some resistance (if you're lucky, you might be able to move the fabric a little and actually see the clip you need to remove) 06. Wiggle the screw driver around until the clip pops out (it may take a while, but eventually it will pop out) 07. Repeat steps 4-6 for the second head rest pole 08. Once you get the head rest off, turn it upside down and you will see two very thin metal discs holding the seat belt guide onto the head rest, you need to remove these 09. Take a screwdriver and pry up on the discs 10. Once you get the discs up a little bit, put some soap on the head rest poles 11.
