I have a subaru legacy gt 1995 and it broke down the other day, first the stereo stoped going then the ABS light came on then the power steering light and then the engine died choked till it died, took it into subaru workshop and was told knock sensor was faulty, would this cause my car to die completely?

I have a subaru legacy 1996 and I have aproblem with my power steerng. When the engine run and turn the steering right or left it is very hard to turn the steering and also the light came on

The dealer ship is right the knock sensor is a safety kill switch and will shut the hole car down .

  • Check fuse #9 at in car fuse panel
  • Check Illumination CTRL Module for melt-down
  • Check that Tail and Illumination relay is fully seated, top center of in-car fuse panel.
The relay is most likely the cause.
