It is hard starting my VW 2003 Jetta. It usually take 5 to 10 cranking before it turns over. Then it run normally. It only happens when the car has not been driven for about 6 hours.

If it is white smoke then you may have an injector problem. If it has a blue tinge to it then it could be your turbo leaking oil. Check where the turbo enters the intercooler and see if you have oil build up. If you do replace your turbo. Is your glow circuit working? Do you have any codes?
Sounds like the injectors on engine of your diesel is flooding the smoke is because when it finally fires it ignites the fuel causing the excess to blow out as black smoke ,you need to get it in for service
