I need to replace the alternator on my Mercedes Benz 190e 2.3 engine. Suppliers offer re-manufactured alternators from 55 to 70 amps and as the amperage goes up so does the price. If the 55 amp alternator works on my car why would I want to buy the more expensive 70 amp unit?

It depends on what accessories you're running. If your vehicle has every electric option under the sun, you would want the higher output alternator. Same if you were running a high-output stereo or something like that. It all comes down to what you need.

How to change the alternator on 03 mercedes benz ml350

it is on the right side of the engine. It is hidden under the engine ecover and cold air ducting on that side. To get it off is two bolts and one connector. You will need to take the serpintine belt off as well. I don't have a image for that right now but either find one thata shows where the belt goes or make a drawings before you take it off. That way replacing the alternator is not a headache and should take less than an hour.

1997 Mercedes 300E diesel, 186K. Multiple instances of Check Engine Lights, Oxygen sensor replaced 2x. Engine has stopped unexpectedly while driving, 2 codes (Check Oil Pressure & ETS) , alternator...

Try or (have your mechanic) remove oil pressure switch and clean. They gum up and it's a safety feature that when car is in accident and/or roll over, when oil pressure drops (eng quits) power to fuel pump shuts off. Sticking oil pressure switch is common on Benz Diesels

How do i remove an alternator from a 1989 mercedes 190E?

The alternator is held by 2 long bolts: one on top and one at the bottom. Identify the location of these bolts. Lose the top bolt first, remove completely the bottom bolt. Use the top bolt as a pivot point to lift the alternator so the belt can be out of the pulley grove. After that take off the top bolt so the alternator can come off easily. Put in the new one in reverse from what you did. Good luck.

What transmission fluid can I use in my 1993 Mercedes Benz 190E

AF3 onepx.gif DEXRON®-III Automatic Transmission Fluid
BMW: Power steering use AF3; Models with combined power steering,
hydraulic brake booster, self-leveling suspension system use SLF
Mercedes-Benz: Use only manufacturer approved fluid

Look on the back of the bottle of fluid you are looking to buy, if it does not say is is approved by MB, don't use it.
