Have you loaded a tune on it ? Did you do a boost bypass mod ? Did you do a TPS adjustment for any reason ? Under throttle when it feels like it is missing, does the CEL ( check engine light ) flash ? When was the last fuel filter change ? Have you changed out the plugs to a different spec ( usually with a tune change, if specified ).

Sounds like a bad coil or coils, you should have a scanner hooked to it and watch the data stream to see which cylinders are misfiring and then check the coils or if it has wires to each plug then check the plug wires . good luck, hope this helps.

By stutter you presumably mean it misfires? Most hesitations and misfires by far are caused by an ignition problem - low output from coils, worn spark plugs and suchlike though bad injectors or low fuel pressure can play a part.

Every diagnostic process should begin with a thorough visual underbonnet inspection and a code read.

Has the fuel tank been low lately? How cold where you are? Add 2 bottles of fuel "Heat" to the gas tank, and be sure to fill up...and keep fuel level above 1/4. Hope this helps.

IHAVE A 1991 JIMMY GMC I HAD TUNE IT UP PUT A NEW CAP AND ROTO PLUG AND WIRE AND CHANGE THE FUSE FILTER ALSO BUT IT KEEP CUP OFF WHEN I MAKE ACOMPLETE STOP AND WHE IAM RIDE WHAT COUL IT BE.

3 most common causes for your problem are:
  1. Bad EGR (Exhaust Gas Reciculation) valve - clogged EGR will cause engine to stutter or miss
  2. Bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor - will also make an engine stutter when bad
  3. Bad TPS (Throttle Postition Sensor) regulates idle speed under multiple conditions.
