The rubber boot will come out, but there should also be a wire clip that holds the bulb in place. You can check the other side to make sure you get it back together right. Do not touch the glass of the new bulb.

if you are removing the power clip, grab the recepticle it was plugged in to (look at your new bulb as a reference) and twist counterclockwise. The entire bulb assembly will come out, and replace with the new assembly.

SOURCE: How to replace a headlight bulb on an 2001 Eclipse

Under the hood and directly behind the headlight you are trying to replace the bulb in, there is a rubber piece that is circular with 2 flat "handles" on it. Disconnect the wires from this, then wiggle the rubber piece out. Behind this is a clip. Release the clip and the bulb should come out. Replace the bulb, close the clip, make sure the rubber piece is back on tightly, and reconnect the wires.

Best part about it : No tools needed.

I just did this the other day with my 2001 eclipse GT.

SOURCE: How do I remove the rear drum 95 eclipse

Hello, there is an adjuster that you will need to loosen in order to bring the parking brake shoes in so you can slide the rotor off. If I recall correctly when you take the riim off there should be a hole in the rotor and hub that will let you get to the adjuster. If there isn't you might be able to reach it from the back. Use a flat tipped screwdriver to push on the teeth to turn it. If the rotor feels stuck to the hub you'll want to smack the surface that the rim bolts on between the lug nuts repeatidly and hard with a hammer. That will free the rotor from the hub. DON'T hit the brake pad serface. If you can't get to the adjuster or it is froze up you might have to use force rocking the rotor back and forth. Just take your time and watch for anything if it falls out of place. If anything falls out of place I can probably get you a diagram of how it's suppose to go back together or explain placement of parts if you let me know what they look like. If you have abymore questions about this feel free to ask.

SOURCE: need advice on how to pull alternator out of engine compartment not enogh room

You can get the alternator out but you need to remove all the brackets also. And that is a fair piece of work. I think one of the bolts to the bracket is behind the A/C pump to that has to come off also. If I was to do this job again. I would try removing the radiator and see if it comes out the front. Just my two cents worth - good luck.

How to replace the side marker/position light bulb on the driver side? I can't even get to it because i can't get the light housing off!

The Headlight Assembly is not difficult to remove but you do need to be careful NOT to pull on the Headlight Assembly and break the clips

1. Open the S60's hood and locate the pin that is behind the headlight assembly of the bulb that needs replacement. The pin has a handle on the top. Pull the pin straight out of the headlight assembly.

  • 2. Push on the back of the headlight assembly until it comes out the front of the S60. There is an electrical connection on the back of the assembly; unplug the connection.

  • 3. Press on both clamp on the assembly. The clamps are on either side. Push them in together so that the cover releases.

  • 4 Uncover the bulb by pulling on the small plastic cover that covers each bulb. Push the visible wire aside. Pull the bulb straight out.

  • 5 Push a new bulb in and push the metal wire back over it to secure the bulb in the assembly. Push the covers back on.

  • 6. Reconnect the electrical harness to the assembly and push the assembly back into place. Push the retaining pin all the way back down into place.

How to replace headlights on 1989 toyota camry

    1989 Toyota Camry

A little personal tip - if you get fingermarks on a halogen headlamp, you can wipe them off with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or, if you want to do what mechanics do, keep a number of 2X2 alcohol wipes in your automotive toolbox just to wipe off halogen headlight bulbs.

    HEADLAMP REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

    Sealed Beam Headlamps

    See Figures 2 and 3

Before making a headlight replacement, make sure that the headlight switch is in the off position.

    1. Loosen the screws, release the clips and remove the headlight door. To release the clips, insert a flat blade screwdriver into the jaws of the clip and pry on the jaws.

    2. Remove the beam unit retaining ring screws and remove the beam unit.

Fig. 2: Headlamp door clip removal

    3. Compress the lock releases and disconnect the wire connector from the headlight. If the connector is tight, wiggle it while holding in the lock releases and pulling out.

Fig. 3: Do not remove the adjusting screws when removing the head lamp sealed bulb

Never try to loosen the aim adjusting screws. If the screws are loosened, the headlights will have to be re-aimed by a qualified technician.

    4. When installing, use only a sealed beam unit with the same part number and wattage.

    Composite Headlamps

    See Figures 4, 5 and 6

Fig. 4: Headlight bulbs are inside the sockets located in the engine compartment

Fig. 5: Detach the wiring from the back of the headlamp bulb

This procedure only applies to replaceable halogen headlight bulbs (such as Nos. 9004 and 9005); it does not pertain to sealed beam units.

    1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.

Fig. 6: Twist and pull the bulb out, but do not touch the bulb if it is still good

    2. Unfasten the locking ring which secures the bulb and socket assembly, then withdraw the assembly rearward.

    3. If necessary, gently pry the socket's retaining clip over the projection on the bulb (use care not to break the clip.) Pull the bulb from the socket.

    To install:

    4. Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.

    5. Line up the replacement headlight bulb with the socket. Firmly push the bulb onto the socket until the spring clip latches over the bulb's projection.

    WARNING
Do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers. Oil from your fingers can severely shorten the life of the bulb. If necessary, wipe off any dirt or oil from the bulb with rubbing alcohol before completing installation.

    6. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. (If this is a combination low and high beam bulb, be sure to check both intensities.) If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.

    7. Position the headlight bulb and secure it with the locking ring.

    8. Close the vehicle's hood.

How to replace toyota matrix front headlight bulb

    Hi,

Replacing a headlight on a Toyota Matrix is a simple process that only requires the use of a screwdriver and a replacement bulb. The Matrix uses 9006 bulbs for the low beams and 9005 bulbs for the high beams. Headlight bulbs can be purchased at auto parts stores.
    Replacing Low Beam Bulb
    1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood
    2. Rotate the bulb base in the headlamp assembly counterclockwise to remove the low beam bulb. Unplug the electrical connector. If the connector is too tight, wiggle it slightly to help remove it.
    3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place it into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Close the hood.
    Replacing High Beam Bulb
    1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood. If replacing the left-hand headlight, remove the air cleaner duct by removing the securing clip with a screwdriver and pulling the duct out of the vehicle.
    2. Turn the bulb base counterclockwise to remove it. Unplug the electrical connector.
    3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place the bulb into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Reattach the air cleaner duct if replacing the left-hand headlight. Close the hood
    I hope this helps.

    Best regards.

How do you change a driverside headlight on a 2003 acura 3.2cl

    Hello!
Remove the positive battery cable...Remove the baffle that is in front of the air filter housing (2 plastic clips)...Pull the over flow container up and out...You will see a gray 2- wire connector under the light cover...Push down on the tab until it clicks...Pull back to release it...Now you can remove the cover over the bulb. It requires the use of a #20 Torx with a security tip. This tool is worth the $20 cost and can be purchased at major tool stores. You can find it quickly at; www.wihatools.com. Part #70142...When handling the new bulb it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to wear a pair of latex gloves...Skin oil transferred to the surface of the bulb will ruin it...Pull the old bulb and note the position of the electrode...Make sure the new one goes in straight; No twisting...Hold the bulb backing and install the locking clip.
There is a safety statement on the back of the headlight cover which is a little over the top which warns of 24,000 volts. With the battery disconnected there is no voltage present.....

How do you change headlight bulb on 03 Eclipse

First, make sure that the headlights and engine are off. Hot engine and hot bulb make changing it challenging. Reach behind the headlamp assembly and remove the electrical connector by pulling it straight out, towards that back of the car. Next, remove the large rubber seal that is on the back of the headlight assembly by pulling it off like the electrical connector. The electrical connector was in the center of the seal. There is a metal bar spring that goes across the back of the bulb assembly. It opens like a safety pin. Gently push down on the end of the metal spring. Once it is pushed down it will be out of its clasp and it will open automatically due to spring tension. The bar spring can be opened completely and then the bulb will come straight out the back of the headlamp assembly. To replace the bulb, first, make sure you don't touch the glass on the bulb since it may cause a hot spot and reduce the life of the bulb. There are 3 metal tabs that are on the bulb for the electrical connector. Position the bulb so that the "missing tab" is on the bottom. Put the bulb into position by aligning the 3 metal fingers on the outside of the bulb assembly into the openings on the back of the headlamp. They should seat fully. Once the bulb is in place you can close the bar spring by gently pushing down on the open end of the spring so that it engages the clasp. The spring will hold the bulb in place and you can verify seating by gently trying to move the bulb or by gently pushing and pulling the bulb. If it is seated then you can put the large rubber seal back on the back of the headlamp. Lastly you can pusht the electrical connector back onto the 3 prongs of the bulb. Don't push too hard and you might want to consider using some bulb grease to make it go on easier and to protect from corrosion. I changed both headlamps in about 3 - 5 minutes.

Changing the headlight bulb in 2003 dodge grand caravan

    1) open the hood.
    2) Carefully remove the three screws holding the headlight assembly in place.
    3) Carefully slide the headlight assembly out. At this point you can replace the headlight bulb, turn signal bulb, or the entire headlight assembly. To replace the headlight bulb turn the collar holding the bulb in counter clockwise. Pull the bulb out of the headlight assembly. Replace the bulb. Insert the bulb into the headlight assembly insert the collar and turn clockwise until it locks. (Do not touchglass with your fingers or it will cause the bulbs to catastrophically fail - clean with alcohol pad if you touch the glass)
    4) Carefully insert the headlight assembly back into place.
    5) Replace the three screws removed in step 2 being careful not to over tighten.
