If all the bulbs are working, depress the brake pedal and look again.

Double check all the lights. Pay close attention to the reverse lights and all the turn signal lamps. The reverse is the most commonly over looked. Have some with you while checking these lamps to confirm. Also check rear licence plate light. Failing that unplug a bulb, any (the easiest), with all the running and headlights on. Plug it back in and check warning light again this my reset it.

Low beam headlights dont work

Generally that happens when your low beam bulbs burn out. I have had that happen a couple of times, no warning, no indication leading up to it.

I would just replace the bulbs.

2000 taurus left turn signal flashes rapidly and the left rear turn signal lamp does not work. Does ford have burned out bulb sense circuit that would give this indication? The right side flashes normally.

Yes - the fast flashing is a warning that a bulb is burned out. Change the bulb (be careful to put it in the same as the old one as it probably is 2 bulbs in one , parking and turn/stop) and you should be fine.

The switch is fine if the third brake light is functioning. Even though the tail lights work, the filament for the brake light can be burned out. Sometimes they look intact but are still burned out. Replece the bulbs.

Lamp out alarm keeps sounding

probably one of the tabs on a light bulb heated up and melted, causes contact to be lost.just remove lights and check each bulb for oblivious melting and bend contact out, away from plastic on the bulb to get a better contact on the inside of the socket. happened too me in the rear tailights.

Warning light on dasher

This is the taillamp failure indicator. You either have a burned out taillamp or a burned out brake lamp bulb(s). Please make sure when you check for inoperative brake lamps that you make sure that the brake lamp in the rear window works, also.

There are two black plastic clips behind the the air filter, remove them and release the whole assembly to access the lights.

You probably have a frayed wire leading from the main cable to the headlamp.  Look closely where it may be touching the frame and see if you have any wear etc.
