Roof light doesn't work properly. It flickers when I press on it and goes off when I let go. How can I replace the bulb ? Can I just pry the cover off? How? I don't want to break the hinge, if there is one, where is it?

My best advice is to replace the filament bulb with this

http://www.amazon.com/Corolla-interior-TOYOTA-upgrade-Intensity/dp/B000LJF26W

it is a interior dome light led replacement bulb made for your vehicle, it costs about 20 bucks, but will never need to be replaced again.

manufacturers are trying to use led's now rather then bulbs due to the no maintenance required factor in their oem books

Do you mean the roof light is not working (not lighting up when switched on)? If yes, you may check the light bulb.

Clock backlight, heating panel light and door light not working

Hello,

So--there is no back-light on the heat panel and roof mounted display?
Similarly to a gauge cluster--there are bulbs that produce the back-light. I have a 90's vehicle and I had to replace the bulbs in the heat panel and on the gauge cluster. On some vehicles however you have to take the whole car apart just to access these bulbs. So--just take your time, consult a book, and check the bulbs to see if this is the culprit.

Hope this helps.

SUNROOF CHRYSLER 300 NOT CLOSING PROPERLEY

Lubricate the sunroof sliding mechanism with some spray lubricant/greece .
If the roof closes properly with the engine running, then check your battery voltage.
If your roof still doesn't close properly, then check the wind deflector strip which pops up when the roof is open. It should be held in by clips, but may have come unclipped, or bent.
If none of this helps, then take out the roof lining and inspect the inner workings, motor and gear.

I have a 2007.5 GMC with factory roof marker lamps. The center one flickers and doesn't light completely.

I know it's a dumb question but have you tried changing the bulb? Remove the bulb and check the condition of the socket. If you have some dielectric grease put a little bit in the socket with a new bulb and see what happens.

2004 f150 dome light with center roof rails, how do you replace the light bulb on the drivers side. This is the type that you push on and push off.

Double check, the rail system roof console should be held on with just spring clips ( check for a screw facing down, or to the side, pull out the rail accessory boxes to be sure ).

If so, start on one side with a hook plastic trim tool and pull down to release the spring clip, and work your way around.

On the back of the roof console the bulbs are installed in 1/4 turn bulb holders, remove form the back to replace the bulb.

Recently replaced the battery in my wife's 04 Solara. Now the sunroof will not work "automatically" like it did before. I now have to hold the button, when I only had to press and hold for a second before....

INITIALIZATION
1. INITIALIZATION OF SLIDING ROOF MOTOR
(a) The sliding roof AUTO operation and the jam protection function may not operate normally if the battery
is disconnected/reconnected, replaced or recharged. Initialize the sliding roof system using the method
below.
(1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(2) Initialize the sliding roof by pressing and holding the TILT UP switch until the roof glass tilts upward
fully (the roof glass automatically tilts downward slightly after fully tilting upward).
(3) Release the switch.
HINT:
If the battery terminal is disconnected, the moon roof control ECU may not detect the position of the roof
glass. If the sliding roof AUTO operation is still disabled even after the sliding roof drive gear has been initialized,
the hall IC may be malfunctioning. The hall IC is built into the sliding roof drive gear and detects the
roof glass position.
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive gear assy (moon roof control ECU).

My sunroof is not able to be closed. It is in the pop up position. Is there a manual way to close it? eg no use of electricity?

there is no manual method. It sounds like a limit switch is not working. Can you hear the motor try to operate? If you push up on the back of the glass a little bit while hitting the switch, what happens.

The sliding roof panel system consists of the following components:
  • RH circuit breaker
  • Timer module
  • Power window relay
  • Roof sliding panel switch (15B691)
  • Roof glass panel (50054)
  • Sliding roof panel motor (15790)
  • Halo moulding
  • Roof sliding panel headlining (519A02)
  • Roof sliding panel slide links (502M78)
  • Roof sliding panel housing (502C22)
  • Roof air deflector (500A26)

When the roof sliding panel switch is activated, a gear on the sliding roof panel motor drives a spline on the roof sliding panel housing. Within the roof sliding panel housing, the spline is connected to two sliding roof panel cables which cause the roof sliding panel slide links to slide and the roof glass panel to open or to close. The sliding roof panel cables and the spline are part of the roof sliding panel housing. Neither the sliding roof panel motor nor the roof sliding panel housing can be disassembled. If a malfunction is detected with either of these assemblies, the assembly must be replaced.

Convertable roof and trunk won't open

The Roof Mechanism works with two motors similiar to the ones that wund the windows. Now the two mechanism are located in the left side of the trunk.

The trunk wont open Because of the roof lid that is not closed properly. How you can test this is to press down on the right sid of the roof lid and then try to opne the trunk.

Now the reason that this is happening is that the roof lid is not closing properly nad pressing on a small orange buttin located just below the right hand side roof lid catch. How you are going to remedy this problem is to adjust the cable tension to close more securely.

Now the two motors in the trunk that works the convertable roof can be engaged and disengaged on motor works the roof lid and the other one the roof.

You need to get these motors in sync so that they open and close the roof in the correct order.

That is if the electric are still working.
