Brake master cylinder low? if so top up, or your abs module might be stuffed, need mroe info but im going with brake master cylinder needing top up of dot 3 brake fluid.

I've had this problem 3 times now (owned V6 GX for 14 years).
First time garage fixed it when replacing pads at 90K miles during service.
Second time, intermittent warning, taking it to garage, police pulled me over - failed brake light, replaced it - problem fixed.
Another warning, failed bulb, replaced, problem solved.
Hope this is all thats wrong with yours!

Tail lights work but not brake lights 93 toyota camry
The brake light side of the bulbs is powered by the brake switch and travels thru the turn signal switch.
If the third brake light works, I would guess the problem is in the turn signal switch.

Your brakes warning light or your actual brake lights? If it is your warning light that can come Monday if you're park break is on or slightly on or the switch that says that it is on is faulty, in which case it may tell your cruise control to turn off. If your brake lights stay on there's something pul to you about your switch by the pedal as your cruise will not work when you hit the bricks and this will be perceived as you hitting the brakes. A break warning light will also, come on if your brake fluid is low.
