I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.

Air blend actuator 2000 ford explorer is not working?

First, insure you do not have a vacuum leak or bad vacuum check valve. If this is all good, you may have to change actuator and every model has a different way to access this--some require dash removal. If you must do this, get a shop manual as the air bags CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!

My blows cold and I hear a clicking sound from the inside...what could it be?

There are electric motors that move blend doors in your dash board. The blend doors control the heat/cool ratios as well as the location the air will blow from. It's very common for the doors to break or the motor to fail and require replacement which can be costly.

2003 ford explorer no heat and clicking in dash board

Clicking sound is your blend door actuator stripping it's gears and failing to open the door that directs the blower air through the heater core. Follow the sound to the actuator and remove it. Install a new one. You may have to remove some panels to get to it. The part is shown below and costs $32 at autozone. Please let me know if you have questions.

Cold air comes out when i turn on my heat and i hear a clicking noise. 2004 ford explorer v8

yes, common problem. Blend door actuator is stripping it's gears. Remove actuator and make sure door rotates by hand. If not remove heater box and repair door operation. If it moves OK by hand, replace the actuator. I don't have procedures for replacing yours, but follow the sound, removing whatever panels necessary to get to it. The part looks like the below pic and sits flat on the heater box with a cable coming out of it. Cost is about $35. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Cant find the blend door actuator on 2003 ford f150 super crew

The temperature blend door actuator is located on the right side of the transmission hump under the evap. case. The floor ducts cover it.
