Mark the distributor and pull it out, turn the key on.with module wires connected, ground the dist. body and spin the gear, with the cap off, you should hear a light spark or tick in the distribtor, if not the pickup in the dist. is bad. a rebuilt distributor is probably cheaper than the pickup alone.

1994 Jag XJ^ No Start

If the car started and then stopped and if you have ruled out the fuel system(make sure you do have fuel pressure and your not chasing your tail) then it could be one of 2 items.
First i would replace the cap and rotor, I have had cars that ran fine then died and after replacing the cap and rotor have been perfect.
the other common issue with this model is water in the gas. The fuel filler drain gets clogged which allows water in teh gas tank, when the car sits it seems the mixture will allow the car to run then boom, it will die and not restart.

I have a 97 plymouth voyager van that dies out while going down the road we have replaced that converter, plugs wires cap rotar and it is now saying multi mis fires is it a bad o2 sensor

well you might have"bad ign wires" or bad ign coil!!!!O2 sensor wouldn't do that usually miss fires is wire ,coil, broken or crack porcelain on spark plug usually done on installing them!!!!!! I know the three spark plugs closest to fire wall are not easy to get at and some time spark plugs get cracked and over looked good luck
