The radio's power wire has a short to another power circuit that is live at all times (eg headlights), you are going to have to trace the power wires till you find where the short has occurred. You can try to take out all the other fuses ONE at a time until the radio goes out and that will tell you which circuit it has crossed with, that may make it easier to diagnose.

My radio will not work? Put in new fuse and it blows right away?

If the radio blows the fuse without the engine running then it is probably a short in the radio or wiring!

I can't get the radio in my 2007 Nissan versa to turn off. What should I do?

short of replacing the radio, cant do much.

you might have to pull a fuse from under the dash, especially if it is staying on when the car is not running.

alternately, you can add an external power switch to the radio fuse circuit, to disable the fuse circuit without crawling under the dash, as this is hardly convenient while driving

How is 2001 Mustang GT parasitic draw on battery related somehow to FU 27 and FU39? Battery drains overnight but I cannot narrow down a faulty component.

Allfordmustangs.com has an article if you Web search your car with fuse 27 and 32 as part of the search. It blames the GEM as part of the problem(wiper) and also points out that the radio has several power feeds. Fuse 27 is hot all the time, but fuse 32 is only hot in ACC or Run. So as long as you can test fuse 32 to be hot in only Acc or Run, it should not drain the battery in Off position. You might want to test the ignition switch to verify it is really turned off.

The all mustangs article had different symptoms, as you did not indicate whether the fuses popped.

The wiper motor is suppose to derail and turn off. If you can unplug the wiper motor overnight and the battery stays up, you would know that it is either the wiper motor or wiper control. The radio is on the other fuse circuit. But whether the radio can drain a battery in a short time, you need to measure draw, but if the fuse pops, the battery should stay up. Again, disconnecting a circuit like a radio, and then having the battery stay up, would point to the radio circuit being at fault.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

91 buick park avenue. Battery is being drained.

If the battery is ok (you did a load test?) and all is well without the fuse being in, then there is still an unusual draw, which is measured in amps, not volts - use an ammeter inline with the fuse. One of the most common causes of this problem is a light that won't shut off the way it is supposed to, such as the underhood service light or the trunk light. Any short would blow the fuse.

Need to find out what fuse radio is run off of

The fuses that run the radio is depends how your vehicle is equipped with or without dvd player and with or without steering wheel controls but if you check fuses F1 which is a 10 amp fuse, ?F7 which 5amp fuse, F22 which is a 10 amp fuse, and F31 which is a 20 amp fuse, you will have them all covered all of which are located in the fuse box inside the vehicle. thanks for using fixya

My windows, locks stop working and my interior lights stays on now. Can u tell me wats wrong wit my car.

It's hard to fix a car or truck without knowing what the make year and model are. Engine size is important too and the country that your in as I'm in the USA and cars uilt for other countries are different. Does the engine still run? Does the battery being charged or is the altenator off too. Your looking for a blown fuse but you might find when you find it it won't take a new fuse without blowing it too.. Does the car have the radio in it that came with it new or has it been replaced with an aftermarket radio or tapr player? Does the car have addedfeatures like alarms or remote start? the wires going though the door hindge area into the door from the car but the yeaqr model changes the way this system works. Tell Make year and model and the rest and I can tell you how to fix it including the color of the wires involved too.

SAfter shutting off the truck, radio and fan continue to run. Also, went out the other morning and found radio running without keys in the ignition. I tried replacing the relay switch in the fuse box. ...

Check and make sure the ignition switch is not worn out and allowing you to remove the key when the switch is turned backwards in teh accessory position. once the key is removed and the radio is staying on, turn the ignition without the key in it, both directions and see if it shuts off, if it does, menas work cylinder or key.

Radio code will not stay set

You need to check the fuses in the underdash fuse box, fuse 5 is a 10 amp that is hot all the time. Fuse 32 is a 7.5 amp that is hot in run, or acc position. Also check fuse 7 in the underhood fuse box it is a 7.5amp. If all the fuses are good, the radio may have an internal failure.
