One of the lights came on in the dashboard..... I have a GMC Envoy 2005.... do not know what it means... Do not know what that light means and do not have a manuel.

Please open your fuse box to check if you notice any fuses that are discolored or (potentially) burnt. if you find one, that fuse might be linked to the dome lights.

Need to know what code pops up with the check engine light, some autoparts stores will check for free. Don't drive it if the check engine light starts flashing rapidly.
I have a '05 Envoy, 65k miles. The engine randomly turns off. At a stop light, while making a turn. There are no check engine lights on. Starts right back up. Major pain at intersections.
Since the high mounted brake light works you know that the brake light switch is working. Now you need to check the brake light bulbs in the rear tail light assemblies. The brake lights are separate from the tail light (parking or running lights). There are two screws that hold the rear light assemblies in place.
if you happen to live near and autozone you can take it there and they will scan the codes for free... that sounds like your check engine light and if i'm incorrect about that it leaves your abs or airbags.
