What should it cost (or est.labor hours) to replace a rear main seal (transmission) and serpentine belt on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport (A/C and P/S)? Thanks!

WOW! I have a guy that estimated $2000 for both! At $500 per hour, they should gold plate the damned transmission!

The belt will be about a half hour labor. I'd imagine the rear main seal would run about 4-5 hours, maybe more.

How much should it cost to replace rear main seal gmc Yukon xl

transmission has to be pulled to get at the seal, likely a 4 hour job or so plus the seal. Depends on labor rate. Could be extra charges if exhaust bolts are corroded (can't pull trans. with exhaust in)

How much would it cost to replace a front seal on transmission of a 1995 buick century special? How much for parts? Labor?

The seal is very cheap-a few dollars. The cost of labor will drain your wallet-the transmission has to be removed to replace the seal- a good 5 or 6 hour job, if not more.

Cost replace rear main seal toyota camry

Four cylinder or V-6.

Both engines will require the removal of the timing belt to service the front crank seal. Both engines will also require the removal of the transmission to replace the rear main seal

either way way you would be looking at 3-4 hours for the front seal and 5 to 6 hours for the rear seal.

How to replace a rear main seal in a 2001 chevy 2500

several things, the rear main seal is accessable by removing the transmission. if this vehicle is standard transmission, then would recomend new clutch at this time given the amount of labor involved. if automatic, remove drive shafts, transfer case, transmission, and flexplate ....replace rear main. approx 5 hrs.

Rear main seal (slow) leak on a acura 95 legend. how soon should it be fixed and how much will it cost?

With any leak it should be fixed as soon as possible as far as cost, that will depend on teh shop you take it to and which method they use to replace it. They typically have 2 options, pull the transmission and replace it from the outside or pull the motor and replace the seal. Typically a Transmission shop will charge you about $600 to $800 to remove and install a Transmission plus the cost of the part and the labor to install the new seal.

How uch is it to replace the rear engine seal in a f250,85.with the 460

the seal itself is about $20 and a Haynes instruction book is about $15.
to do it yourself you are looking at about $35 and a days worth of work. I would rent a transmission jack too.

If you take it in plan on about $400 depending on what part of the country you are in.

Rear main seal leaks..does this affect transmission??

A leaking rear main seal will not cause your transmission to leak.

The transmission has its own seal and should not leak because of the engine rear main seal.

Due to the labor involved in replacing the rear main seal on the engine, it is best if you replace the front transmission seal at the same time if possible.

Installation varies on different vehicles but the principles are the same.
