Reset anti theft on lincoln mark viii - 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII

A quick bit of research says is is likely to be a fault with the door lock module, especially as your father said not to lock it.

You need a mobile auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to diagnose which part is at fault. He may be able to just reprogram it. You can't fix that system by guesswork and the Ford anti theft system is very complicated.

You must have it diagnosed and find out what is causing the unwanted activation of the anti theft system, this means a trip to the dealer. the system can't be bypassed because it is fully integrated into the electronics of the engine control module.

if you have owners manuel for this vehicle, it will tell you in the manuel how to disable anti theft

you need have it reprogrammed at the dealer

have the anti theft module checked out

the best way to find out is from the main dealer, if you want to try disconecting the alarm system then try and start it

Wiring manuals are available on CD $10-$15 from eBay, usually pirated. 

ive tried turning the ignition on and off three times or so....then turning it off completetly for about five secs and then turning the ignition all the way on and most of the time it starts up....but sumtimes i think this car has a mind of its own......
