It sounds like ether the tcc inside the trans or mybe the converter its self ,if it dies when you stop the converter is staying locked up ,the fix is to replace the tcc inside the trans ..

When the car is cold you start it and it runs fine. When its warm and you go from highway speeds to a stop it will start jolting and dies by the time you get stopped. You can start it right back up no

Sound close to a EGR but its not,You describe a transmission concern,Where the propellor and immpellor locks up and stalls the engine. There are some transmission additive for this concern it deals with adding into the transmission fluid and doing a transmission flush. To rid of varnish build up.My solution for you transmission flush with filter replaced as for the transmission cleaner conditioner I have found none more effective than a transmission rebuilt.

Transmission not shifting until 50 mph when accelerating passing gear makes trans shutter

You need to have the transmission serviced. This is most likely a clogged Trans filter or you are low on trans fluid.

My transmission is slipping when accelerating from a stop. 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.1, filter and fluid changed one year ago.

The forward clutches are going bad is the most likely problem. To repair the trans should be rebuilt.

Clutch or Transmission?

Whining noise is worn gears or low on transmission fluid. It after reading your post, sorry to say but you were low on transmission fluid and your transmission needs to be replaced. You gear box has seized and every time you release the clutch even in neutral will kill your engine. The transmission shaft may have seized on the bearings in the transmission case, regardless you need a new or rebuilt transmission. Good luck friend and sorry for the bad news. Keep me posted.
