Spray W-D40 into the door latch. Should work since same thing happened to me.
For time being remove bulb(s) to save the battery but it sounds like the switch is faulty on the door.
This is how it works in Laymans terms:
When you open a door it operates a switch, with the door closed the switch is open-circuit, door open and it closes the circuit by means of putting a live to earth. This means a switch is somehow managing to get an earth signal with door shut.
Most likeliest is drivers door as it has the most use, work from there by removing switch, fault should be quite obvious with switch removed. The offending switch will put the light off when removed.

using a test light with all doors closed everything in the car off; disconnect your black battery cable then: connect a test light between the battery post you just removed the cable from and the cable you removed; the light should light. this is your short (leak) then remove fuses until you find the fuse that causes the light to go off your problem is in that circuit.
