I need to replace the fuel pump on a 1984 chevy celebrity 2.8/V6 but I do not know where it is located. Also does this car have a fuel filter? I have searched and cannot find one.

84 celibrity has a carborater and the filter is in the carb. where the fuel line connects to it. Follow this metal line down past the timing cover and the other end screws into the fuel pump thats connected to the side of the engine block near the oil pann gasket on the belt drive end of the engine it has some brackets surounding it for the power steering pump and it's hard to get to and lots of other stuff needs to be removed to get to it. When their bad they leak oil too and sometimes they leak gas into the oil.I need to replace the fuel pump on a 1984 chevy - 195379185.jpg

I recommend very highly you get a Haynes repair manual on your vehicle. Yes, there is a fuel filter on the vehicle and the manual will let you know exactly where it is located.

All questions need 'year make model'. Dawning on me, that you mean 1984 FORD F-250! Ah, and 'Out new fuel pump I' should be 'Put new fuel pump 1'? No one proof reads in America or the Antipodes!

What is a 'fizgram'?

Check the fuel pump relay for correct operation. If there are two pumps, there should be two relays. You can swap one for the other as an easy test.

Does a 1989 chevy celebrity 2.8 v6 have a timing belt or chain????
It could be that the throttle body is clogged. They normally connect to the air filter that sends air to the engine. If you can unscrew it and spray the throttle body with a sprayer(throttle body cleaner or injector cleaner available at auto parts store) and then re-start it. Otherwise, ask a good mechanic or a friend if you know one who knows about cars for a diagnosis. It should be free. Also make sure tour air filters are clean and have the oil change twice a year.

How to remove starter on 1984 chevy celebrity
According to manuals starter removal is dependent upon the engine type used however I looked at a 1984 Celebrity with 2.8 L X version enigne and both mog my repair manauals which toild me nothnig aobut the fiornt frame of htis vehicle being in the way of the starter mounting bolt nearest the engine hence it appered to me one woulde need to raise the engine if it could be raised enough or remoive the negine., If nyone have remoived thios startewr pelase let me know hw, okay/

You may have a mechanical fuel pump, usually located at front lower part of engine. Follow fuel line back from Carburetor. If fuel injected, it will be in gas tank.

1988 chevy celebrity No fuel to the carberator.
without starting the engine position the key to the on position.
you can hear the fuel pump operationing for 4 to 6 seconds upon having the key on.
if not heard running check the fuel pump fuse, the fuel pump relay, and the engines oil pressure switch.
they all work the pump you see
the engine oil pressure switch runs the pump untill the engine reaches normal pressure
once the pressure is reached to the normal range the computer shuts that circuit off and turns the fuel pump relay on

I dont know how to replace a fuel filter on my 1984 chevy s10 can you help me out
1984 Chevrolet Truck S10 P/U 4WD 2.8L 2BL 6cyl the Fuel Filter is located under hood, center, upper engine area, front of carburetor, mounted in fuel line.

First, release the fuel pressure by opening the fuel filler door. Then you replace it by squeezing the quick release plastic clip on the front and sliding the fuel line forward; you then use a wrench to loosen the nut on the back. Be prepared for some gas spillage with a container or some old rags. Once it is loosened, you remove it from its bracket, replace it, hook it back up (reverse of what you did) and it should be good to go.

MY GIRLFRIENDS 89 CHEVY CELEBRITY DIES WHEN TURNING
Try replacing the fuel pump relay, or you may have a PCM (computer) and prom failing. Underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support, is a bank of 2-8 relays. One of those relays is the relay needed for your fuel pump. There will also be a fuel pump relay fuse located there.
Inspect that area for any corrosion or loose wire (bad ground) Good luck and here is a link for you to retrieve your DTC codes and that may help you resolve the car's issue.

Where is the fuel filter located in 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity V6
If your engine has a carburator it is in the carb. You will see a big nut where the fuel line goes into the carb. Unscrew it and there is your fuel filter. If you have TBI or throttle body, it's inline, under the car I think. Hope this helps.
