VM Motori S.p.A. is an Italian diesel engine manufacturing company which is wholly owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles through its subsidiary Fiat Group Automobiles. VM headquarters and main production facilities are located in Cento, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
in conclusion you dont know whats there, so neither do I.
The engine has a belt tensioner that swings up and you remove the belt but in your case you will just move it up in order to put on the new belt. There is a diagram on the radiator support that shows the routing of the belt. Tell the parts store you need a belt along with the year and engine size and if with air or no air and they should fix you up. Does the belt have 6 ribs inside and is the Belt for the alternator or power steering unit. 29 inch seem small for a fan belt. Let me know. If you go to dave78chieftain.com/chevyP30belts.html It will show a diagram with the belts and below that the part numbers. One of the numbers is for NAPA parts. I did find one air cleaner number but not sure it will fit. The number is a Fram PRA3549. Good luck.
You need to purchase a Haynes Manual or better. They are very common in your nearest chain part store. Like Autozone, Advance, Napa. More than likely you will have to set the crankshaft at TDC. "top dead center" and allign the two marks with the cam shaft! Watch when you put tension on the belt it will move the camshaft sprocket! And throw it back out of time.
nothing comes off usually just a 1/2 socket find the belt tensoner and put socket on nut behind pully and either push for ward or pull back and it will move to give room for the new belt to go on
well to tell if the belt is to tight find the longest spot in the belt that isnt touching any pulley and in the pulley see if u can move the belt around a half inch or so, if u cant move the belt any then yes it is too tight if it moves too far then the belt is loose, good luck
