BAD GAS!!! Empty tank, lines and and float. Get tarnish out with carb cleaner and put in fresh gas with chemical to dry lines of water/whatever. Replace fuel filter.

Own 1983 buick regal, 3.8 L v6- want to install a 350 smallblock. Is this feasible? The 3.8 is a lemon, and it's very difficult to get parts for the motor.

Depends on which 3.8 you have because there were two avaliable in that car .One was the buick 231 cubic in and the distributor was on the fron of the engine. The other was the chevy 229 cubic inch engine and the distibutor was in the back just like on the small block v8.If you have the buick motor be prepared to swap everything including wiring harness and transmission. If you have the chevy v6 it not so bad but you will really need a donor car(monte carlo, cutlas, lemans)with a 305 or 350 for the wiring harness ,radiator shroud ( shorter on the v8) ,a/c lines (longer on the v8).Years ago I had a lemans wagon with the chevy 3.8 that i put a Monte Carlo ss motor in and it looked like it came with it.bought a wrecked mc( hit in the rear) and swapped everything.Including coil springs and sway bars front and rear. And yes the SS 15 inch wheels too! It was a real cool sleeper.Miss that car.

For 2002 Monte Carlo LS need to replace carpet

try contacting the dealer.I did this about 10 years ago with an 85 nissian 300zx and they sent me new carpet and it fit perfect. Also try contacting auto part stores. You private small auto parts store usually know more. Also check into restoring car websites2.gif. Carpet stores really cant help.

Just installed 305 in my 79 monte carlo, engine turns but will not fire.

You may have already got this, I forgot to sign in first. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, odd numbers on the driver's side and even on the passengerside. Number 1 is closest to the rad, but I need to know the year and what the engine came out of to tell you more, Like how to position the distributor and the advance. Let me know, I'll be around most of the day.

1985 Chevy Monte Carlo, need body info.

the complete nose up to the front doors are bolted on.the only thing that gets a little tricky is the lower radiator support. just take youre time and it can be all disassembled and rebolted with out too much trouble.
good luck chris
