Speedometer gauge/climate control lights dont work

Ok, so I took out the stock stereo in my 2005 scion xb. Suddenly the speedometer gauge and the climate control dial lights stopped turning on. the digital clock/engine problem lights still work along with all the other electrical appliances. I checked the fuse boxes and none of the fuses are blown. i check the wire lines behing my new stereo deck, wondering if i had maybe exposed a wire, shorting out the wirework, but they all seemed to be in place.
I havent checked if the power surge maybe just blew out the bulbs but i fing it unlikely that they would both blow at the same time.

any suggestions?

Look for a dimmer wire,, sounds like your radio dont have the option for the car dimmer switch,,

the power for these lights run through the dimmer wire for the radio. ether its not hooked up or the radio dont have the option for it.

there is a way to bypass the radio dimmer option,, BUT you have to know what your doing or you could fry something.

look for Car Radio Illumination/dimmer Wire: should be Green.

I'm assuming you already checked the dash lights dimmer control to make sure it didn't accidentally get turned back. If that is not the problem I'd get a test light and see if you have any voltage at the switch and fuse box. Sounds like a blown fuse with you having just disconnecting the lights.

2004 Scion xB instrument panel & blinkers not working?

That is a mess and points to nothing in particular, perhaps a communication issue with the BCM?

You need an auto electrician with a professional grade $5,000 scan tool computer with access to wiring data and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

Track off light is on. what does that mean?

I had the problem a few weeks ago. I took the vehicle to the Scion dealership originally the computer said it was the ECU unit after replacing that my vsc and traction control light remained on. Come to find out it was the yaw rate sensor.

The Check Engine light, VSC light, and Trac light on my 2005 Scion XB came on after a journey of appoximately 200 miles. Should I be concerned about this, as I have a 500 mile drive to make in 3 days.

On these cars and Toyotas also, if the engine computer sees an emissions problem, it will illuminate all of these lights. As long as the check engine light isn't flashing and it's not running funny, you should be ok to finish your trip. Keep in mind the traction control may not work if you were to get into a situation where it could be helpful. Recommend checking the gas cap to be sure it is tight, it should click 3 times minimum.

I just purchased my 2005 scion xb and the tail lights and speedometer don't light. no manual so i can't tell where the fuses are

All the fuses are in a panel on the far left lower side of the dash. There is a small handle, pull that panel out and the fuse box is right behind it.

TAKE OUT STERO

First you need to go to Schoche.com and Purchase a Small Blue Box that will let you convert the Audio wires into RCA Jacks. Got one for my 2007 Scion Xa Worked Great! You will still need to run your wires for the amp and Run RCA Cables to the Stereo. This box will cut into the Rear Speaker wires and still allow the Speakers to work while allowing you to Connect the RCA Cables for the Amp to the Box.
