The fuel filter is a disposable unit located in the engine compartment, next to the power brake booster. The filter should be replaced at least every 30,000 miles (48,000km). A dirty filter will starve the engine of fuel and cause driveability problems.

Have to turn ignition off about 5 times before Nissan Maxima will start .
You should get the fuel pressure checked.Your fuel pump is probably getting weak.Also replace the fuel filter when replacing the pump.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Rpm going up and down
coolant temp switch can cause this. but add a can of SEAFOAM to fuel and change out the f filter again. the ETHANOL is causing unusual problems with these.

Hello you need is help have a nissan maxima 1992 turn on fine but when I go up to 30mph in feet as if something was stuck igyetor change a fuel filter I feet that can be a sensor thanks for your help
check fuel pressure
the fuel line in the tank that connects the pump to the fuel line may have split.
if the fuel level is low you can hear the fuel spraying in the tank.
