Someone knowledgeable will need to check out the electrical system to see whether the clutch, the relay, the wiring, or the dashboard switch is the cause of the problem.
The clutch itself is the most likely cause, with the wiring second.
These can be replaced, but very commonly a repair shop will wish to replace the clutch and the compressor both, instead of just the clutch.
The cost can be high. ( $500 - $1000 parts & labor)
God bless your efforts.
Its up near the glove box. Easy job. Don't pay the dealer $250. It cost me around $40 and took about 5-10 minutes to remove and replace. This is the problem 80% of the time and NOT the blower motor.
normally the IAC valve can be cleaned(the pintal on valve & the seat get dirty/carbon )usually pretty accessable so maybe an hour labor or DIY not hard to do good luck
There are many parts to an ignition... Ignition switch, plugs, wires etc... If you're unsure, have a local shop diagnose whatever you feel is a problem and they can access & give you a price. Prices on parts & labor vary widely from shop to shop.
90k miles, recommended to replace also the water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys. Shop costs (3hr labor) $450-$750 depending on their labor rate and parts price.
Technically, nothing else needs to be changed when replacing a timing belt, however it is recommended or suggested to replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump while doing the belt. These items are only accessable when doing a timing belt. The cost should be under $100.00
