The distributor maybe the problem if it has one. There is usually a rubber seall to keep moisture out. Maybe the rubber seal is broken already.

JETTA 3 2.0 CLI 1993. My car just cuts out while i'm driving sometimes it comes to a complete stand still and starts again after a few seconds most of the time it cuts out then go as i'm driving not...

Check your engine grounds (bundles of brown wires usually attached at firewall and other points around engine compartment) if these are corroded you will get same symptoms. Make notes when it occurs - IE: when wet out, damp, cold etc... My suspicions are grounds are corroded.

1994 corolla: hard to start

If it is happening more frequently in cold or damp weather it could be a spark issue. Wet or damp weather can effect spark plug wires if there is even minor damage to them (usually occurs durring rain). The other things that come to mind are the fuel pump and lastly the fuel line check ball that is in the fuel tank. If it is leaking then all the fuel in the line will drain back into the tank over night (pressure lost in the fuel line) and this will cause repeated, extended cranking when you first start the car in the morning or after the car has sat for several hours.

1997 Jetta-doesn't start in warm weather

it could be the coil pack or even your immobiliser. try disconnecting your immobiliser. they seem to have bad-parts/dry-joints in them after a few years.

Having problems starting a 97 GMC Sierra

It almost sounds to me like a timing issue. Did you get it timed properly after the distributer was installed? Another thing is the timing chain. Aim a timing light at the crank marks and see if they are staying in the same place, or jumping around. If they are jumping your timing chain may have jumped, or be badly worn, and will need to be replaced.
