Question about Buick Rendezvous

2003 rondezvous stuck in reverse. so put it in emergency brake and turned off engine in driveway. the gearshift moves up and down but it never goes out of reverse. when moving the gearshift forward it goes up and down smoothly but when pushed back it gets stuck in different places but never moves out of reverse.

The linkage might have popped off the tranny must of those are on a ball socket, if you open the hood and find the cable that goes to the transmission. and you will most likly find that it popped off. if you have someone in the car when you are ready to pop it back on have them move the shifter until in the right spot and then push it back on. if it keeps poping off you will have to replace the cable.

Pulled into driveway put car in what I thought was park. Engine turned off key came out. Truck is stuck in reverse. Shifter will not move nor will it start. Can anyone tell me what's wrong ?

Why Lack of reverse power?

Which engine/transmission? Could be a gearshift cable rigging problem, or eventually a problem in the valve body.

Rear passenger wheel locks up in drive but not reverse.

sounds like you have a brake pad hanging up your shoes probably need to have brake shoes checked and adjusted

In park but still rolls

disconnect the shift cable and move shifter to park pull cable hard andreattach also check the switch behind the brake pedal

Hi, im having a similar problem with my Bora 1.9 tdi 6 speed manual.

1st and reverse get stuck (occasionally) and i am having to almost force it out. Any ideas?

Shifter won't come out of park button won't push in

THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME WHEN I PARK THE TRUCK UPHILL ON MY DRIVEWAY. WHAT I DO IS HAVE SOME ONE PUSH THE TRUCK FORWARD A LITTLE SO IT UNLOCKS THE TRANSMISSION. MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE THEN PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. REVERSE THE PROCEDURE WHEN STARTING. START ENGINE PRESS ON BRAKE TAKE IT OUT OF PARK AND LAST REALESE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.

sounds like shifter fork inside transmission has broken, literally snapped in two.
