Ryan, Does the fog light indicator on dash light up when you pull out the fog lamp switch? Also, Are you aware the fog lights won't work when high beam is on?
The fog lights on most vehicles sit directly underneath the headlight bulbs. The ballast and wiring work just like the headlights, so changing them takes not much time. The procedure to change the fog light is as follows:--1) Open the hood and reach down underneath the headlights to unplug the electrical plug from the fog light assembly. Squeeze the top of the release tab and pull the connection off the bulb's ballast.2)Turn the fog light counterclockwise to remove it from the fog light housing.3)Install the new fog light bulb. Then connect electrical plugs properly.4) Test the fog lights by turning it ON.Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
hi from uk the fog lghts? i assume front fog lamps ? the head lights have to be on dipped beam then the fogs will also work but in uk this is so as to prevent fogs only being used (blinding oncoming traffic ) if weather conditions req fogs to be used for poor visibility ? then the side/tail and h/lights must also be on like wise the rear fog light/s operate the same way hope this helps and makes perfect sense ?? all above is assuming bulbs have been checked and fuse/relay and power to each lamp ?
Your fog lights should not work with high beam... they should work with the low beams. they are connected wrong, which probably drew too much current through the light switch burning out the contact points for the parking lights in the switch
Start by Fixing the fog light connections to work with low beams. Appears to me this was not factory installed. Aftermarket kit maybe! Then see if your parking lights work. If parking lights don't work still and everything else works, replace the light switch $50 at the dealer. The switch works the fog lamps when you pull out the knob to turn on the fog lamps when the lights are turned on. When the fogs are on you will see a little amber light to let you know your fogs are on. When you switch to high beam the fog lamps go off. Again if its not working that way, then is wired wrong. Needless to say, there should be connectors in the harness of the lights for the fog lamps. Use those if possible with the kit that you can get at the dealer, or you can splice the connector with those blue splicing clips sold at the auto part store. Make sure ground is ground when splicing and water proof the connection sith silicone and tape.
