It's calld the power steering sensor, it transfers info back and forth to the ecm as fluid pressures increase and decrease, also works in relation to vehicle speeds and rpms.

I see two fuses for power steering and
one relay( the relay is for power steering and A/C so if A/C is working relay should not be the problem)

Have 2008 chevy Malibu Ltz.past few days the dash will say "power steering "of course wheel gets tight. it's electric..not sure if the pump is going out or if it's the lines..how can someone tell?

The system can be scanned for faults, in the is case you need that test performed. The pump only runs when the computer control unit commands it to run it is on demand, this information comes from sensors in the system..

The 2000 dodge grand caravan has two lines running from a cylinder just to the right and bottom of the radiator. it looks like power steering fuel runs through

if their metal, the could be coming from transmission fluid lines, are they going into radiator ? one @ top & one @ bottom of rad . their cooling lines from trans, supply / return . if rubber lines, they go to a transmission cooler , looks like a small radiator, rectangular , supply / return. power steering has no cooling . these lines don't come from engine, power steering has power steering fluid NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID, TOTALLY DIFFERANT !!!!!!

Where is the power steering pressure switch

Inline on the power steering high pressure line/hose. Looking down at engine from front, next to the battery, and next to the power steering reservoir, there is a hose coming out the bottom of the reservoir, curves up, and the sensor with electrical connector is visible near the bend in the hose. It's on the metal part of the line. It's simply screwed/threaded on. Need two wrenches to remove (one to lock onto the line, another to unscrew the sensor).

If it's coming off the "steering box", not the power steering pump, the part is called a "pitman arm".
