Sounds like an electrcial problem. D)) Overdrive Overdrive is the normal selector position for most forward driving conditions. This position provides: Automatic shifts (first through fourth). Application and release of the torque converter clutch. Maximum fuel economy during normal operation. --------------------------- Transmission Control Switch (TCS) Overdrive may be cancelled by pressing the Transmission Control Switch (TCS) on the gear selector lever. With overdrive cancelled the transmission will allow automatic shifts from first through third gears only. Overdrive shifting though all four gears may be activated again by pressing the TCS. This should be done at closed throttle for best shift response.

SOURCE: crown victoria window motor replacement

remove the door panel. be very careful and make sure you get all the screws out. Should be maybe 2 on the bottom half of the door, and 2 on the top half. one is right by the handle, which is the one i forgot the first time i took my door pannel off. carefully pull the panel upward, and outward at the same time. Once the panel is off, disconnect the controls, and remove the light from the panel. Remove the plastic cover very carefully, it will tear, just keeps noise, and air, and the elements out.
There will be 3 screws, they are torx bolts, once you pull those 3 out. They are located middle of the door towards the right side. The motor will drop down a little bit. disconnect the wires for the motor, and wiggle the motor off of the regulator. the crown vics have a decent size hole to get into the door panel, you can also remove the speaker if that would help you do it. other than that, it just lining up the new motor into the car, pushing it into the regulator, and putting the 3 bolts in, make sure they are snug, and not cross threaded. put everything back together, and your set.

Ford crown victoria 99 won't go forward goes in reverse

You have a 4r70w transmission and more than likely a forward drum failure has occurred, seeing as reverse still works fine and no forward engagement. This is not an electrical problem, it is a hard part failure and the transmission will need to be disassembled to repair it. Forward drum failures are one of the more common failures in these transmissions. 4r70w no forward gears only reverse help needed Ford Truck Enthusiasts...

1995 crown vic gear problems/gear shift wont lock

most likely the shift tube bushings are bad- you may have also lost a few screws in the shift tube or they could just be loose. you have to pull the steernig column down to inspect/repair it.
