  • Remove the headlight bezel retaining screws. Remove the bezel. If necessary, disconnect the turn signal lamp wires.
  • Remove the retaining ring screws from one or both lights.
  • Remove the retaining rings.
  • Remove the light from the housing. Disconnect the wiring connector from the back of the light.
  • Push the wiring connector onto the prongs at the rear of the new light.
  • Place the new light in the headlight housing. Position it so the embossed number in the light lens is on the top.
  • Place the retaining ring over the light and install the retaining ring screws. Tighten them slightly.
  • Check the aim of the headlight and adjust it, if necessary.
  • Install the headlight bezel. Secure it with the retaining screws.
  • Connect the turn signal lamp wiring (if it was disconnected).

    NOTE: Procedure if there is a concern over the formation of condensation inside the plastic headlamp lens or if the plastic headlamp lens is split.
    NOTE: It is normal for a small amount of condensation to form on the inside of the plastic headlamp lens, it will disappear when the headlamp is switched on. If the headlamp does NOT dry out after having been switched on for 15 minutes, check the build date of the headlamp. If the build date is between 01.08.98 and 30.09.98, install a new headlamp cover flap.
    NOTE: If there is a concern, both headlamps must be removed. Defective headlamps must be renewed and reworking may be necessary. When the headlamp is installed, the number of mounting points must be reduced.
    1. If the headlamp assembly is defective, install a new one.
    1. NOTE: Sometimes the guide pin on the plastic headlamp lens is still present on a new headlamp assembly.
      Cut off the guide pin flush and de-burr as necessary.

    1. Remove the headlamp levelling motor from the faulty headlamp assembly and install it on the new headlamp assembly. For additional information, refer to Headlamp Leveling Motor - Vehicles Built Up To: 10/2001 in this section.
    1. NOTE: Sometimes there is no hole in the bracket of a new headlamp assembly.
      Do NOT install the retaining bolt any more.

    NOTE: The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp assembly until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bolt for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp assembly where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamps with the bulb removed.
    1. NOTE: Make sure that the headlamp switch and the ignition switch are in the OFF position.
      Release the ambient air temperature sensor.
    1. Remove the radiator grille opening cover at the top shelf of the bumper.

    1. Remove the radiator upper sight shield.
      1. Remove the pin-type retainers.
      1. Remove the radiator upper sight shield.
    1. Position the headlamp assembly for removal.
      1. Remove the three bolts.
      1. Position the headlamp assembly for removal.
      • Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the headlamp assembly.

    HEADLAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (EQUINOX)
    REMOVAL PROCEDURE
    1. Open the hood.

    4. Place a piece of tape over the radiator grille strap to headlamp retaining clip to prevent scratching of the headlamp lens.

    7. Remove the headlamp from the vehicle.
    INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

    How do I put a headlight assembly and sidemarker on passenger side of my 1994 cutlass ciera car? I was in a wreck and need to put a new one on

    Headlights REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Non-European Style
    1. Remove the headlamp trim panel attaching screws.

    Remove the headlamp bulb retaining screws. Do not touch the two headlamp aiming screws, (at the top and side of the retaining ring), or the headlamp aim will have to be readjusted.

    Once the retaining ring screws are removed, the ring can be pulled away

    Pull the bulb and ring forward then separate them. Unplug the electrical connector from the rear of the bulb.

    1. To install:
    2. Plug the new bulb into the electrical connector.
    3. Install the bulb into the retaining ring and install the ring and bulb.
    4. Install the trim panel.

THE BULB MAY SHATTER IF THE GLASS ENVELOPE IS SCRATCHED OR THE BULB IS DROPPED. HANDLE BULB CAREFULLY. GRASP BULB ONLY BY ITS PLASTIC BASE. AVOID TOUCHING GLASS ENVELOPE.     Removal and Installation
    1. Place the headlamp switch (11654) in the OFF position.
    1. Remove the electrical connector from the miniature bulb (13466) by pulling it rearward.
    1. Remove three nut and washer assemblies from the rear of the headlamp (13008) .
    1. Remove the headlamp by pushing forward on the headlamp bulb and retainer (13N021) assembly. For ease of removal, it may be necessary to loosen the attachments of the adjacent parking lamp (13200) and cornering lamp assemblies.
    1. Remove the three clips attaching the headlamp to the headlamp bulb retainer (13N019) by prying them out from the base using a flat-blade screwdriver. This completes the removal of the headlamp . Save the clips for the installation of the new headlamp .
    1. To install the aerodynamic headlamp , ensure that the black rubber shield is securely crimped to the headlamp , then reverse Removal procedure.
    1. After headlamp installation, check headlamp aim and adjust as necessary as outlined under Adjustments.
    1. Turn headlamp switch on and check for proper operation.

    Trying to take out headlight in 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo. have grill off and screws


    1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
    2. Remove the headlamp cover TOP
      1. Remove the mounting fasteners.
      2. Disconnect the headlamp unit electrical connector BACK
      3. Separate the headlamp from vehicle.CAUTION: Do not touch the bulb glass with fingers or other oily surfaces. Reduced bulb life will result.

        NOTE: If installing a new headlamp unit, transfer all the wiring, bulbs, and sockets to the new unit.

        1. Install all of the bulb sockets in headlamp .
        2. Position the headlamp on the vehicle.
        3. Connect the electrical connector .
        4. Push the headlamp inward to secure into position.
        5. Install mounting fasteners
        6. Install cover over headlamp.
        7. Connect battery negative cable
