We replaced the radio in our '98 Cadillac and no door chimes
We replaced the radio in our '98 Cadillac Eldorado, but the chimes no longer work. Also, the dashboard zeroes out, and sometimes (overnight) the remote access doesn't work.
Thanks for your response! We installed a Clarion (aftermarket) stereo, and it works fine. I was after the new radio was installed that these issues came up. It is located in the valley between the cylinders. You can loosen the throtle body, all the bolts holding the intake manifold and then lift the manifols just enough without disturbing the fuel rail to gain access from the lest side of the car to the right. This can be done with common tools and the gaskets on the manifold and TB can be reused if not damaged.

L/F door window switch and test for power at switch plug with a 12V test light. Depending on results would determine my next move.
Since the replacement is a different one from the one you are replacing, the car wiring harness is probably different from the one needed for the new radio. This is a really important difference if the new one is part of a Bose system and that is not the option installed in your car. The best way to check is for you to identify the option codes for each radio and go to alldatadiy.com and compare the wiring diagrams.
