Intermittent radio CD, etc. every 20 - 30 seconds the sound drops out and then resets itself. It is like the power is shut off and then is restored.

You probably need an amplifier if the power on the radio is not shutting off when this happens. this vehicle also has a fiber optic system that runs the radio so you'll probably need to take it to the dealer for repair

Testimonial: "thanks for the advice. I have received similar advice from a couple of sources."

AM FM radio Compact Disc player o.k. for 30 sec after start, then nothing. Fuses o.k.

Maybe a shorted speaker causing the power amplifier inside the radio to shut down or a speaker wire shorted to chassis and last the internal amplifier of the radio cd set faulty by itself... set volume to zero power it off take out the radio cd set; remove the speaker iso plug leaving the power plug only in and power it on if necesary turn again the volume down to zero and wait if it keeps turned on it a speaker problem if it shut itself off again then you go for a repair or a new one

Is there a fuse or someting for the CD plyer or radio? My CD player wont work.

there is a fuse in fuse box that powers radio...sounds like a problem with radio itself....if fuse was bad it simply would do nothing"no power at all.

2004 Toyota Corolla Verso has intermittant sound and control problems. The radio will play fine and suddenly the sound will go off as well as the back lights illuminating the radio face and knobs.trying to...

The problem sounds like intermittent power supply. There might be an inline fuse which sometimes does cause problems. Remove the radio and check the power line to see if there is such a fuse. If so, remove and clean it with a bit of sandpaper, put it all together and see if it helps.

Radio keeps shutting off and on by itself

Chrysler issued a Service Bulletin on this issue:
http://content.chiltonsonline.com/TSB/displayTSBHandler.ashx?assetID=32775&key=6kAUBD5BruOJf%2f3tgozUqjXM3RdbjcQqW4sVWiE%2fp2IojfpfKqM07dr61%2bQAWHtTgj5ghqCyAsXZXMYlPHiwYTeWWlHs098qM%2fdhB4noIbogWy%2fc0a9JlQ%3d%3d

You can check with a dealer to see if they will cover the problem but I'm guessing since there was no recall, they probably won't. If not, you can try this:

Reset the radio by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 mins or so. After you reconnect, the radio should reset and resolve your issue.

I hope this fixes your problem. Best of luck!

2004 saturn vue Replaced battery. Radio and Cd no longer work.

Turn off the car and remove the negative battery cable off. let sit a few minutes then reconnect the cable. try it several times. The removal of the battery causes the computer to deprogram itself. what you will be doing is re-programming the computer module.
