The speed sensors are a single pole, variable reluctance sensor, mounted to the rear axle housing and both front half shafts.

A toothed tone ring is press fit to the differential carrier next to the drive gear and provides the signal for the rear sensor.

The front tone rings are press fit to the half shaft assemblies

Location turbine sensor 2001 sportage and symptoms

hello per my dealing with the problem your having I suggest you take it into your Kia dealer have a Dealer Diagnosis run,, the electronics can be very tricky.. no local auto parts can solve that ..its a very expensive part to have to replace, if it ruins the turbo.. this is my best advice although I had to replace one once.. I found a real reputable turbo rebuilder and exchanged mine at half of the price a dealership will charge.. and you can utilize the repair at a local garage if yours becomes necessary to replace in the future.. as for the speed sensor it has to be top quality parts not aftermarket I have seen money wasted on those .just my dealings with kia tubro's or Toyota's also ,Best of Luck.. What is ideal rpm at idle speed on kia sportage 2001

The ireal RPM's is about 820 +/- 50. Slighly lower is you happen to have a standard transmission. Below is a description as far as testing your idle. The vehicle sets the idle speed through the computer through several sensors. It is not adjustable. Hope this helps....

How to repair a fuel tank pressure sensor in a 2001 Kia sportage and where is it located?

The Fuel tank pressure sensor or Fuel pressure sensor? The pressure sensor for the fuel line is located in the Engine compartment, although I don't have the exact location it is located on the fuel line. If your talking about the Fuel level sensor that is actually part of the Fuel pump assembly. You should pick up the Haynes Repair manual on your vehicle before attempting either repair.

2001 Kia Sportage fuse 4 radiator fan?

Radiator fan fuse is fuse # 5 (40 amp/Green) located behind the interior fuse access panel on the left side of the instrument panel next to the steering column. Also, in the underhood Power distribution center, next to the air cleaner filter are two black fan relays: high speed (F) at the far left, second row down and a low speed, 1st one to the right on the bottom row.

What is the hold light mean?

Assuming a first generation Sportage, sounds like a problem with the vehicle speed sensor on the back of the transfer case (4wd) or transmission extension housing (2wd).

Could be as simple as a corroded/broken wire, through to a malfunction in the sensor. Take it to Autozone and get the codes read and let us know what they are (to be absoluteluy sure...).
