2000 toyota solaro, very bad vibrating when sitting idle, especially when ac is running. replaced all the motor mounts. it didn't vibrate until I changed the motor mounts. ???help

Maybe the drain on the battery is causing the engine to slow during idle This might cause the engine to run roughly and induce vibration. Why change motor mounts. Have a service and refit the original mounts if they are not an issue

Bad vibration when in gear but idle speed

I'm not sure exactly which vehicle you have so I'll try to be genera yet as specific as possible to help you determine the problem. I'm assuming here its a Gas Fuel engine.

1.) if its a carburetor type engine, You may need to adjust the RPM to increase or lower the Idle. Its commonly called the Ideal screw and adjust the air fuel ratio to stabilize the engine fuel mixture to increase the RPM.. its found on the Carburetor.

2.) ts fuel injected you will need to adjust the throttle body position to archive the same effect.

if it has a distributor , you can turn the distributor as well to adjust the RPM.

rough idling is usually caused by Mounts, since you changed yours the next most likely issue is the RPM itself or idling speed / rpm. If its to low you ill have that issue.

other possible cause is the distributor points (if any).. bad plugs, bad plug wires.. but those cause other issues while driving as well.

Too much vibration on startup

No harm will come from slightly overfilling the engine with oil. It doesn't cause leaks as most people THINK. The engine does not build up pressure inside because of the PCV system that draws crankcase vapors into the intake to be burned. You have another problem keeping your car from cranking. Possibly a bad starter, solenoid switch or even bad wiring.

If you are absolutely certain that the wheels are not needing balanced, then I would suspect the CV joints / Driveshafts. Sounds like one of them may be stuck.

I always fix these vibrating focuses by changing the motor mount on the right front (passenger side here in canada) BUT IT MUST ONLY BE A NEW FORD OEM MOUNT!!! No other will remove the vibration.Fixed 68 so far with this fix.

motor mounts can be changed without pulling the motor the load percent change that the other guy posted is normal and a vaccum leak would cause the engine idle to wander when in neutral. if you need info on how to change mounts let me know

no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.

Noise and Vibration

I replaced the lower passenger side engine mount and the vibration is still there but a bit less vibration. The lower passenger mount was worn out. I was told by the Dodge service dept that it takes 5 hours to change the main hidden engine mount which is mid way up the passenger side of the engine. That main hidden mount cost 75.00

To get to it you would have to remove the wheel, inner fender plastic work, windshield washer fluid tank, and etc.

Check the idle control system, also check if all the injectors are working. Provided you already changed the spark plugs.

I have the same problem with my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. Feel vibration at idle when car is in drive but goes away if I put car in neutral, reverse or park. Doesn't happen all of the time but is getting more frequent. I had the motor mounts changed whic seemed to make the vibration go away for a short time but now is back. Changing out the spark plugs didn't make a difference with the vibration. Also, had something done to remove carbon buildup in inductions system?? Any other advice or suggestions on what might be the problem????
