Car suddenly died in parking lot. Idle went really low and car shutoff. car cranks but does not start at all.
First thing you will want to do is check for spark. The spark consists of Crank Shaft Position Sensor, Ignition Module, Coil Packs, Plugs & Wires. You can use a test light, an ohmmeter, or voltmeter to check all of these components to check if there is spark.
When you first turn ignition to ON position, check to see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on. If not, check fuses and relay. You can also test the powre to fuel pump with a voltmeter. You can test for fuel pressure on the test port on the fuel rail to see if there is fuel pressure. A car needs fuel and spark to run. Your car is missing one of them.
All cars now days have many sensors. They are the most common cause of a car not running correctly. You can test any of them with an ohmmeter. You can also go to autozone.com and register for free online repair manual with all the info you should need.
