Did you check the park fuses, note the diagram, rr and lr. Use a test light to check voltage at fuse circuit, headlamp switch on. That should tell us if problem is before the fuse or after.
You always want to check voltage and ground circuits, for lamps. Do the front park lamps work?
I had an issue like this one on a 2007 Colorado. I assume you mean the turn signal indicator inside the truck lights up. It was a bad bulb. think it was the turn signal bulb on the side that is lighting up. As for the gear indication being dim there is more than one bulb that lights them up and one may have blown. These are usually on the same fuse with the turn-signal and outside indicator lamps. (The owner's manual tells where the fuse boxes are on your model.) Check the neutral safety switch in the shift linkage mechanism - that's what turns the lights on in reverse.
