Why does my check engine light keep comming on? I have had the sensors replaced and the computer has been reset but the light still comes on. this has been an ongoing problem for the past year or so. I think chrysler has a problem with there jeep line and don't want to admit it.

If you get the codes read and they lead you to a problem, then the sensor or the wireing to it are the problem.Get the dealer to check for shorts in the wireing to the sensor sending the code.

Have the fuel ssystem checked for integrity, even a gas cap can cause the light to go on, or it may be a mechanical problem trying to show up but is not serious enough yet to cause a drivability problem

Hi there:
You are right, DTC P0058 - HO2S Heater Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2

As far as replacing them, the only thing that has me wondering about a wiring issue. Keep in mind that power comes directly from the engine computer. Either the wires are broken or the computer is bad.

Aditionally, in THIS LINK could fin other descrtipion test and details procedure.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Service engine light comes on reset it it and takes a couple o days to come back on .truck doesnt overheat but comes up 128 error is it the thermostat or engine coolant sensor

It is possible that your oxygen sensor needs to be replaced.
have it checked out, thats the most common reason the engine light comes on.
P0128 error means thermostat stuck open, replace it.
then reset computer with scanner, lights and codes should go away.

The check engine light comes on and it dies on occasion. It is intermittent. Had it scanned and was told the only fault was mass air flow sensor. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor, replaced fuel filter and...

Anytime you make a change to any part of the emissions system, its best to disconnect the
battery for a few minutes. If you don't, the computer retains the fault code and it will usually keep
coming back. When all power is lost to the computer, it will do a complete scan when reconnected
and engine started. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and see what happens.

Check engine light won't stay off

you could have a short in your o2 sensor wire and there for its not reading.Get a shop to hook up a diagnotic scanner and read what they are doing so you can see if its a loss of comunication or not and then go from there. Also make sure it was factory replacement o2 sensors and not one of those multifit jobs.

The check engine light keeps coming on for a 1998 Toyota Avalon.

Had the same problem!

Your Computer won't reset. Now don't freak out their is a fix.....

Your computer is out, and needs to be replaced. their are three ways to resolve this. Buy a new computer (about $1200 plus aprox. $200 labor), find someone who can somehow get the computer to reset (??? this could cost about $600). Not a good choice.Their is another way, but it can't be posted. It is a total fix, but not even related to the problem. I know a mechanic for the company and.......
