Hi, the water entering the passenger side could be either due to a leakage in the drainage tray at the bottom of the windscreen or a leakage through the window of the passenger side. Remove the carpeting and try pouring water on the windscreen to check. Also remember to leave the doors open when parked in a safe place to allow sunshine and air to dry up the interior. Cheers
I would like to add the other possible cause... the heater core is leaking (if the moisture contains antifreeze - this is it).
Second possibility, if air conditioner is being used, moisture that is forming in the condenser unit is unable to vent to the outside (exhaust hose that runs from passenger firewall location to a hole in the floorboard just below it). In this case, the moisture will NOT have antifreeze in it.
Of course, if it onl y happens when it rains, Netpreneur has hit it right on!!
Can be a fairly common occurrence on these cars particularly if the windscreen has been recently changed. If this is the case the n/s scuttle panel (which sits between your screen and bonnet) may need sealing to the screen as they were from the factory. This is to protect the pollen filter from water ingress which would pour into the n/s footwell. When the screen is changed this resealing is sometimes overlooked as a drip tray is in place to give a belt and braces approach. However it cannot cope with heavy downpours particularly if it has been damage whilst being removed/refitted.
