This happens a lot of times. I don't think there's a need to call the dealership since the only thing that you need to do is to open the car so you can get the keys inside. You have several options that include slim jims, lock bumping, lock picking and the likes. You can also call a locksmith but that's expensive. Just make a bump key and use it to bump the lock open.

Key will not unlock the doors

Susan, have you used that same key to lock and unlock doors before. If not it may not be correct key, as some one may have changed the ignition and did not match key to door locks. If key has worked for you in the past, visit a lock smith and have him lubricate all the locks to get tumblers working properly again.

Key is stuck in the ignition to my 1993 honda accord. It will turn on car I can drive shift normally out of park I just can't remove key from ignition when going to turn off the car it feels forced please...

It seems that you have either twisted key or broken lock. perhaps both. So I would go to nearest locksmith and try to get them to pull key out, and then switch the lock or cut the key in lock, then drill the lock and pull it of. Pull back new lock.

I just recently bought an 89 ford escort LX and there was no key with it. the car would start with out a key until today when i turned the ignition switch all the way back and it locked the wheel. now i...

drill out the lock with a 5 mm drill bit to the depth of the key, the drill will turn the lock and probably start the car when it is drilled out just enough and the key will still work in the lock if you push it right in only any key will now fit and this key will fall out going round corners... you can get the ignition barrel and key for about £25 from car breakers, and now the lock is drilled once you push in the buttons on the bottom of the barrel it will come out easily = theres always an escort on the breakers, any MK4 escort lock will fit, get the door locks and keys too if you dont want more than one key with the car - having mismatched keys reduced the resale value also.

Will not start dash reeds key error

V50 2005 and similar year have this problem.

The ignition key has two parts:
- remote control (with battery)
- RFID identification (without battery)

Car has two separate locks.
The upper lock is where you put the key inside and turn to ignite.
The lower lock is right at the steering wheel which electronically locks the wheel.

The "upper lock" sometimes refuses to recognize the key. It might be a bad contact or bad mechanical placement. Typical problem for this car.
Try hitting the dashboard and the lock with your fist few times (not too much!). If there was only a bad contact, the car may start a few times.

If you have dropped the ignition key from 1m of height (or higher) to the concrete, the RFID module inside may not have survived. Try with spare key.

If nothing helps, take the car to the volvo shop to change the upper lock. That was my case...
The lock looks like this:
