I would suggest just using a redundant wire to use for your tach.

I hope this helps.

How do I pull obd2 codes from my 1998 Chevy dually 3500. 7.4l v8 4l80e, 16 pin obd2 port without a code reader? My transmission started to shift really hard thru the gears now has a check engine light

have it read by a garage ,but hard gear changes is normally down to low transmision fluid ? as for engine light well it could be anything and you need to read the codes

My 1990 automatic GMC Sierra wont shift out of 2nd, it just revs higher and higher. Any advice? (It will shift from 1st to 2nd when I take my foot off the gas)

Check your transmission fluid, if it is low, the transmission cannot shift into the correct gear from lack of hydraulic pressure. Be sure to check it while the truck is running.

If it is full, you may need to change the fluid and filter; over time the fluid will break down and trash the filter leading to low pressure problems which is why your truck fails to shift any more than 2nd.

Another problem may be that the torque converter is failing to lock yet again from lack of hydraulic pressure or its just worn out.

I am working on a 1993 chevy silverado 3500 dually. While driving, the transmission will periodically shift down to 2nd gear and remain there. I have checked for loose wires, connectors and sensors and...

I had a 1994 chevy pickup that did the same thing and it turned out to be the shift solenoids. Try pulling the codes. My codes lead me straight to the problem.

Will a 1994 chevy 4l80e 4wd swap into a 1995 GMC

Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. Good luck and hope this information helps.

F-350 Supeer Cab, long-bed, dually, with towing

I don't know how much better gas mileage you will get with a gear change. I don't think it will be worth the cost verses saving a couple mpg. The 5.4L engine is kinda small for this size truck. The better way to go would be a cold air intake and an aftermarket exhaust this will easily give 5-10 mpg increase over stock and won't sacrafice any power when towing

I have a 1997 S10 pickup. It is a manual

Could be heat shield for cadalitec converter, or inside converter has broken loose, or a hainger for your exhaust has broken.
