Highly possible problem is the starter solenoid. You may hae to replace starter. Remove and have it checked.

Chevy 2008 silverado wont start. Changed the starter. Worked for a while, sometimes turning over right away, sometimes 2 second delay. Now wont start at all. Any thoughts to the problem?

Check battery connections closely, especially the ground connector, that they are clean and tight. Then follow the ground cable to the engine/frame, and make sure that connection is clean and tight.

Ok so I have a 98 gmc sierra 1500 5.7. I went to start it the other day after putting gas in it and it wouldn't start just click. So me being half asleep thought I needed a jump start than realized I had...

I will try to help you some here but your description is not clear. You say it cranks but wont turn over. Do you mean it clicks but wont turn over? Anyway I would check battery condition and connections. Also check starter connections and ground cables from battery to engine, frame, and body. Hope this helps you out.

My 2004 f150 wont start. i drove it to the store and everything worked fine. when i came out of the store, the truck won't start. when i turn the key nothing happens. i can hear a clicking noise coming...

I would check your battery. I would also look for loose grounds. The clicking you hear is your fuel pump turning on. I would check your battery voltage and, have the battery load tested.

Wife went to store and she calls me telling me truck wont start its just clicking so i go over and it or i thought it was a bad connection negative was loose i tightened it up and after a jump it started...

probably the starter is going bad. it hits a worn spot on the inside so it can't engage to turn over but most of the time it is not at the warn spot so it engages fine. make sure the ground is tight and not corroded and the battery post and clamps are not dirty, sometimes a bad ground connection or corroded batt. posts can cause intermittent failure. if it fails again, try the old fashion test by crawling under and tapping the starter itself with a hammer or similarobject. it usually will start and if it does, the starter is going bad.

Electrical problem with jetta 1990

sounds like a defective alternator, also the battery light should come on when key is first turned on but goes off when car is started, also make sure you have a good ground to alternator body some of these alternators wont charge without the ground. make a ground wire with to connector eye lids, connect one end to alternator and the other to the frame, try thatfirst .

When I turn the key my starter just clicks once or twice. Battery has been checked and is good. Battery cables look bad. Your thoughts on why it wont start

the starter has likely failed. have someone "whack' it with a hammer as you turn the key to start it. if it starts you need to replace it as that only works a couple of times

(850/95 turbo) car won't turn over, it clicks ?

If you are satisfied with the Starter and the Battery. Check the connection to the Starter Solenoid Relay and Maxi Fuse. If all is still OK. Make a new Frame/Body ground to Engine casing Ground connection, if possible reusing the same, but cleaned, connection points .

Car wont start it just clicks

If youve tested the battery you may have a faulty starter or a bad wiring connection to the starter. Or A bad ground cable connection from the battery to the engine block
Hope this helps!
