I had a headlight out last year and since they came two in a package I just replaced both of them. Yesterday they both went out at the same time. I have changed the fuse without effectiveness. Is there anything else I need to check prior to purchasing new lamps??

When you install them DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH YOUR BARE HANDS that causes them to blow out faster because of the oil o your hands you can do that with those kind of bulbs

(Land Rover Headlights Fail in Cold Weather)

Sounds like a bad headlight Relay. If you have an Owners Manual you can look up the correct Relay in the Powerbox. You may find that Autozone, com has chassis and fusebox diagrams. Register for FREE on their site and then you can toggle down to diagrams and print or view what you need.

How to pull out headlight switch in 2004 envoy

No need for the switch, there is a recall for this issue, doesn't cover all years, however, it DOES affect all years. Replace relay #43 under the hood in the fuse box. Turn your lights on, swap the relay #46 with #43 (right next to it), your lights will go on. Very common problem.

Both headlights went out yesterday, I am thinking it was a fuse, to blow both lights at the same time ?

Appereantly headlight on the Kia do not last long, I have lost count of headlamp replacements. Basically, I would say that they last about 5-6 months or less, and we don't do a lot of driving. We have learned to turn off our headlights during the day to minimize run time and on/off surges. We have already had to deal with one fix-it ticket and we are constantly worried about getting pulled over because one of the headlights could blow at any moment. I buy headlights in two packs now to save money. Before you change the headlights check the fuses, in both fuse boxes for any blown fuses, One is under the hood to your right side beneath a black case I beleive, and the other is in the car, near the drivers left leg on the wall.

Sometimes wen i turn on ignition the instrument panel doesn't come on, and sometimes it will come on but then go off.

I had this same problem a year ago. My headlight went out and had problems with the key getting stuck all at the same time. Replaced headlight and ignition switch, problem solved. Yesterday I noticed I had no breaklight, today I have no power to the instument panel again. ?? Not sure if I will have to replace the ignition switch again.

I have a 89 C4 Corvette, my headlights will not stay up, first one will shut then the other. when I turn the headlights off it sounds like the motor is still running? What could be the problem, bushings or...

I had to rebuild the headlight asseemblies on my 89 last year. There is a plastic gear in the headlight assembly that has little plastic "barrels" in it for tension. These little bushings disentigrate over a short period of time. both of mine went out about a month apart. They are called the Delrin Bushings and sell for 8.99 a set (MAdirect). sometimes the plastic gear get's damaged, so you may want a kit. I used a new plastic set don't recall how much, they also sell brass for $59 each side. I figure the plastic lasted 20 years last time. It is not for the novice, but it wasn't too hard if you have the right tools. second side took me an hour.

Automatic Headlights don't work on Impala - Police Package.

I have an 2004 impala and every now and then it would lose the headlights for a couple of seconds and they would come back on. I finally replace the headlight switch and the problem went away. A switch, if I remember right, was about $500.

Both of my headlights burned out about the same time a year and a half ago. I then replaced a few months ago, now the other one blew. It seems that these two lights both burned out too soon. Possible...

I've got a 2001 Elantra that "eats" headlights. Within the last five years, I've probably replaced both headlights 10-15 times. Last time I bought bulbs, the clerk at the Auto Zone recommended coating the connection points of the bulbs in electrical grease (which is different than regular grease). It's usually sold in small foil packages at the check-outs. Anyway, this seemed to prolong the life of the bulbs by 3-4 times. It's a cheap fix that didn't completely solved the problem, but sure cut down on the number of bulb replacements.
