90 buick reatta, service ac.light is on and compresser clutch is not turning, the system has plenty of pressure, no cold air coming through dash outlets,I jumped a relay and compresser came on.
It may be a bad pressure switch or refrigerant temp sensor.
I know this is super late, but I hope this is useful to someone. The power steering pressure switch could be bad. The Reatta's computer will automatically shut off the AC pump if it detects the pressure is up on the power steering system, so the engine doesn't bog down. You can disconnect it until you find a replacement, to restore your AC functionality.
I figured this out because my Reatta has the CRT system, and I was able to directly access the computer system to see that the switch was stuck low, and the AC signal wasn't being sent from both the body and engine computer.
