if the VGRS code blinks after you change the battery, just drive the vehicles, do a tight left and right turn and the light may go out, if not check front tires for correct air pressure, if light persist look for severed cable or go for wheel alignment and balance

When this light is on it indicates a problem has occurred in the system, you must get it diagnosed and repaired and the light will then reset itself

My VGRS light came on and oes not go off... Is that a problem that I need to fix right away? What is the best way to address it?

Variable Gear Ratio Steering (Makes it easier to turn when stationary or moving slow)

Not knowing your model or year, I can't investigate any further with what you have provided.

Looking in other forums, the most useful comment that I can see says that a guy had this same problem after installing a Sat TV system, somehow that process fried the VGRS computer He called Lexus of Honolulu, who informed him that the car was both safe and driveable in the current state. A local dealer fixed the problem for him. The only effect of the light was that the steering did not become more sensitive for parking maneuvers. the job discussed was fixed under warranty, It is not a cheap fix.

1999 lexus es 300 I replaced alternator and battery -- batterry drains totally flat if left for 10 days or so -- nothing left on ( lights and etc

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH 199 ES 300 LEXUS. TRY CHANGING THE POSITIVE BATTERY AND THAT SHOULD SOLVE THAT PROBLEM.

Door locks trunk button radio back lights sunroof do not work and fuses are not blown on lexus Ls400 1990 model.
