I have a 1998 vw beetle 5 speed manual gasoline. it runs fine, but the check engine light gives 2 codes. p0411 and p1128. i think the gas mileage may be a little low. other than that, its good to go. any ideas on what to fix or replace?

Nov 02, 2009 - the link shows a 6 cylinder. i have a 4 cylinder 2.0 gasoline engine. i'm not sure if these instructions apply to me. but on that note, i did check all obvious vacuum lines and quickly found a bad 1. i replaced it and reset the check engine light. 2 days later, the light is back on and now i have a 3rd code coming up 'p0172', as well as the original 'p0411' and 'p1128'. the car still runs fine. anyone have an idea?

P1128 Long Term Fuel Trim Is Too Lean
It is very likely this code is coming up because of the vacuum hose as well.

Never mind. This car was totaled on Thanksgiving. Before it was killed, I found another vacuum line that was bad. I don't know if it solved the codes or not. Sorry.
Car destroyed. Never mind. I would remove the post, but I can't easily find any way to retract it.
