I'm sorry, research on this site and others had led me to believe that a BCM controlled the courtesy features of this vehicle. The problem is that the features (including interior lights, radio) will not come on even though all the fuses on the vehicle are good. Everything else on the vehicle works fine. Also check your fan relays, they're located on the left side by the washer fluid in a rectangle black box. If your check engine light isn't on, leave be, they're ok..
The thermostat is located in the flange where the LOWER radiator hose attaches to the engine. Three bolts secure it to an odd looking plastic pipe assembly.

Therefore if you need an inexpensive engine repair manuel for your 2002 MPV, get the Haynes ($20.00) 2001-2007 Escape/Tribute manuel. Mazda sells the a MPV shop manuel for $180.00. I also own a 2002 Mazda MPV LX. 75k miles.

these don't use a BCM, that is GM
