Have problems with a 4l80e transmission

4L80E or 4L80? If its not an E there is a cable called a tv cable that may be out of adjustment. That will destroy a trans in a matter of few miles.

Sorry your rebuilt trans did not fix your problem P1120 is TPS out of range The throttle position sensor responds to the gas pedal movement . of speed and angle it is moved Most sensors are 3 wired which has a supplied voltage of 5 volts and a ground and a signal return voltage this signal starts around .5 volts closed throttle plate and slowly works to 5 volts at full open position with a volt meter test the return signal while operating the throttle plate (engine off key on) look for glitches is voltage span go slow if this test fine check at computer the wire can be broken somewhere.

Take it to a reputable trans shop. These transmissions are controlled by a computer. If this is a 2500 or 3500 Yukon, I bet it is equipped with the 4L80E transmission. These have a tendency to allow transmission fluid into the large electrical connector, and it shorts out wires and can make things go crazy. There is a way to silicone the leak and fix it(videos on YouTube) or a good honest shop can do it without replacing parts.

OUT OF ADJUSTMENT OR WORN STRETCH THROTTLE CABLE WILL CAUSE NO OVER DRIVE AND REVERSE.MOST TIME BEST BUY NEW THROTTLE CABLE WHEN REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION.OLD CABLE STRETCHED.

Hi, ive had same problem, and found to be a transmision sensor.. ( pulse generator sensor) u can find it at a dealership for less than 80 dlls. it can be easly replace by anyone its : a 1 plug conector wire that divides into 2 sensors like a ( Y ) ull find it under the air filter right on top of the transmission just follow the wire and ull find the second sensor under the transmision, once replaced, i let the key to on position for 15 min to reset the computer ,and ur good to go..car runs like new again..hope this helps ... Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. the gas tranny should work. gm was pretty good about keeping the same bolt pattern.

that trans is a little to lite duty for a diesel, u can use it but u will need to install the computer and the correct wiring harness.
